Ratchet and Clank (April 2016)

http://www.insomniacgames.com/games/ratchet-clank-ps4/

Description:

Play the game, based on the movie, based on the game! Ratchet & Clank (PS4) is a new game based on elements from the original Ratchet & Clank (PS2). Developed alongside the major motion CG-animated picture coming to theatres in 2016, Ratchet & Clank (PS4) marks the PlayStation 4 debut of PlayStation’s greatest heroes. Join Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark and new friends as they battle to save the Solana Galaxy from the evil Chairman Drek.

With an hour of new cinematics (including footage from the film), Ratchet & Clank (PS4) takes a deeper look at the characters’ origin stories and modernizes the original gameplay. Explore the galaxy in a game that features new planets, new and updated gameplay segments, all-new bosses, all-new Clank gameplay, all-new flight sequences, and much more --- with completely new visuals built to demonstrate the power of the PS4!

Battle your enemies with an out-of-this-world arsenal, including new weapons and fan-favorite tools of destruction from the Ratchet & Clank Future series. From the brand new Pixelizer (which transforms enemies into explosive 8-bit pixels) to franchise favorites like the dance-party-inducing Groovitron and wise-cracking robotic bodyguard Mr. Zurkon, Ratchet & Clank’s arsenal has never been better.

Help Ratchet and Clank save the galaxy for the first time, again, exclusively on PlayStation 4!

Features:

* A new Ratchet & Clank adventure based on the movie (based on the 2002 PS2 game).
* A deeper version of the origin story, with over an hour of cinematics, including footage from the feature film.
* All-new visuals showcase the power of the PlayStation 4.
* Collect a massive arsenal including new weapons and fan-favorites from across the entire series.
* Several new planets, new and updated gameplay segments, all-new flight sequences, all-new Clank gameplay, and all-new boss battles.

Finished it already and I enjoyed it a lot.

A lot better than the later iteration on PS3 which sucked IMO.

It's more like the Tools of Destruction.

I'm puzzled why this game is released so late everywhere else after the US release last week.

Sadly you can see that this game is lacking 60 fps support IMHO.

And they are comparing a PS2 game to a PS4 game, they should have added some location from the PS3 games (not remasters) even though they are complete different game.

The graphics between the PS3 games (the PS3 trilogy, not the PS2 remasters on PS3 that this video shows) and PS4 games aren't a HUGE HUGE difference. Sure there is a difference but I think that the PS3 games still hold up well, specially since the Future Trilogy on PS3 is running @ 60 fps !

The difference between the PS3 and PS4 version is immense, i guess it has to do a lot with the PS3 being mostly a slight upgrade from the PS2 version, so it's not too strange i guess.

I can certainly understand why it runs at 30 FPS with that kind of graphics, and at the same time its very understandable that the PS3 version runs at 60 FPS being basically a PS2 port, which it also looks like.

I was speaking about the original Future trilogy on PS3, which are full fledge PS3 games, not remasters.

These look obviously much better than the PS2 games, and also run at 60 fps. And they still look great for 2016 ! They were amazing graphically speaking back then, I was definitely more surprised than the PS4 game in 2016.

That being said, the PS4 game looks great !

I didnt think a great deal to this game in the first 30 minutes but from the gorgeous 2nd planet onwards and indeed the more you play it the better it gets! The upgrade system is cool and I heard there are some great guns which Im looking forward to as I only have a few unlocked so far. Given the lush visuals and onscreen chaotic action with multiple explosions and nuts and bolts flying all over the place, its very well optimized and there are zero framerate issues considering. It also feels like more than 30fps but not as much as 60fps. Its great entertainment, there's no doubt about that and Im looking forward to the movie later this month! This game deserves all the great reviews it gets! Its also one of the few games my daughter can play and enjoys Very Happy

Only complains for me are the lack of 60fps (I mean come on, even Super Mario 3D World runs at 60fps), and It's a bit too short even though I did most of the side missions too.
