Despite its flaws, TEW was the most enjoyable horror game for me the last few years. It had something unique to it, which I can't pinpoint exactly because the plot was boring and convoluted. The gameplay wasn't anything new, but it made it work. Compared to TEW2 it was a masterpiece, and I think in the gameplay department TEW2 was actually the better game, but it was such an uninspired product that I had to push myself to complete it. If they make a proper 'remaster' with improved textures for TEW, I might actually pay for it.
