Seems a bit inconsistent the magic fix, wanted to try the magic and still had a loading time over 3 mins with 1GBit connection. My friend on the other hand was quick in it. Not sure why it still loaded so long.
Good on the guy but the solution wasn't exactly difficult nor was the source of problem hard to find.
In hindsight now looks very stupid. I mean the guy saw that the game overloaded the CPU's with re-reading items over and over again on a single thread. And he saw that not with some super duper special software but with.... Task Manager, well and Luke Stackwalker... But if it was that easy how nobody ever came up with a solution for 7 years? Maybe most people thought "Oh this is something very complicated, no way I gonna do it" and didn't even try but still the guy with the fix said he searched if someone already found this.
It's one of those "AHA" moments where nobody came up with the law of gravity before a fucking apple felt on one guy's head (like it never happened before that, lol). Dunno, just this is so funny and sad at the same time, because for so long people suffered with 5+ minutes loading times. And it was one of my main problems when I first played. It's not like it's some minor issue like unaligned car rails.

I load singleplayer and afterwards connect to online, all in total = 2 mins i'm happy
Chose to load in Story Mode first since the second week of playing Online. After that never changed it. It was proven to decrease loading into Online. Now I may try to swap it to see if it isn't better as getting into SM takes 2-3 mins still.
I gave this fix a try and was going to then move the game to my 7200rpm D drive to see the speed difference and it turned out I had it already on the D drive instead of my SSD when I built my new PC last week so overall they did a good job and I will keep it on my D drive since I really only log in to spin the casino wheel once a day. I always was in the habit of starting single player then going to invite only multiplayer so that also could make a difference but at least they finally got this fixed thanks to that modder.

For me, there is a difference between Steam and RS Club installs.
First time I reinstalled it via RS Club. Game loaded into online super fast. For some reason Steam doesn't recognised it (even though I bought it via Steam, RS Club let me install and play it w/o steam).
Then I installed it via Steam and I get slightly longer online load times. Still a LOT faster the pre-patch.
Same sh*t for me. Still takes ages to load online. Tbh though, I haven't played for a long time. Didn't even know I still had it installed. At least something good came out of it; freed some space
Tried with loading directly into Online but that is still slower - about 5-6 mins from clicking on the exe to entering a session.
With going to Story Mode first then Online it's 2-3 minutes tota
That's on HDD, don't know if this new fix even helps on SSD, I'd guess not or maybe max 1 minute faster?
Ever since release back in 2015 for me the loading times for online have always been between 1 and 2 minutes, so I'm not sure that I'm going to see any improvement.
Looks impressive. Would love to see how it runs on an average PC.
Or is this an after-the-fact video filter/enhancer thing? They only showed pre-captured footage having this tech applied to it.
And no, I don't understand the tech-jargon of their explanation.
Yea it's video post processing. Not game engine changes.

It's more complex than that though. As the video explains, they are pulling buffer data sent to the GPU from the engine in real time in order to distinguish the different frame elements.
It's really impressive, but the camera doesn't really seem to be the best.. colors are muted and washed out. It looks like it's recorded on a older iphone.. it's a cool or interesting effect for a game though because it certainly makes it look nothing like a game.
Saw this on reddit and also thought it was really interesting but of course the casual tards there have no respect for tech.
This could be massively useful during game production as you could run early but rather good looking builds through that to get closer to a realistic result if you desire.
If they extend this to other features it's a genius move to convince the retards into double/triple dipping this game
And PC version owners can, of course, get fucked. As per ancient cockstar lore and tradition

i guess thouth if without a legit key the installation was rolling back we are all fucking then
Eh, PC players can download a gazillion car mods. Including all sorts of added functionality via scripts etc. Probably much better than anything Rockstar will come up with. And besides, you know anything really worthwhile they'll gate behind Online DLC anyway.
And another major dlc full of quality .... Game corps are so out of touch these days, no innovation anymore
Oh they are very much in touch... with all the money they rub on their nipples. I have no idea how anybody can suffer through the atrocious experience that GTA:O is (especially before they fixed the ~3 minute load times) and even less how anybody would spend money on that. But it's the way it is and I have stopped expecting anything from major game corporations.
