ugh, can't believe it's been 12 years since it came out.. if i had to guess i would have said it's max 7 years since i saw it the first time (and i saw it at release).

Studios protect their franchises and want to remain safe for a broader audience.
District 9 is his. If someone is willing to give him monies for it, or he's willing to go simple with it like d9, then he can make it.
Yall gotta realize even if speilberg wanted to make fantastic four and his idea was different than what feign or studio execs wanted, they'd string him along to do as much prepro as possible without making it permanent, and then they'll recast the director. Make necessary changes to fit their plot and done.
Edgar Wright got removed from antman cause his plan didn't fit with marvel.

Although District 9 has a completed story that doesn't really need a sequel in my opinion, I'd like Blomkamp to finally prove that he can actually put together something that works well both visually and writing-wise again. I have my doubts but..I'd give him one last chance.

absolutely love chappie and especially ninja and yo-landi.. and i'm not particularly into their music but i've always found the two interesting to watch, even googled for interviews because i like their personalities + just love that accent. they can be over-the top to say the least, but eh, quite like that, for some artists i can come off as really fake while for these i think theyre basically just themselves most of the time.

not that i like all artists which are "freaks", quite the opposite. i don't know, they just come of as genuine and cool to me, unlike 99% of artists who do the whole freak thing. Guess it helps i find yo-landi super hot too..
