A sound effect has been added that plays when you try to buy something that you cannot afford to help underscore that your life choices have all led to this single disappointing moment.
These devs are something special. I enjoyed Wasteland 3 and going through 2 now it makes up for its lack of graphical detail with spirit.
Do the premade chars have any story? Will I miss anything if I create characters? Do I need optimized builds for ranger difficulty or can I have some random fun?

It doesn't matter and or add much, they have some powerful starting items (that you dont need to enjoy the game). You can respect anytime by replacing or regenerating characters, and some stat attributes are just broken.
So long as you pick 1 class of weapon, and one utility skill per character the game is pretty easy on Ranger difficulty.
What does Fallout tactics have to do with anything? I think all those proper Fallout games suffered similar flaws of massively OP skill traits and abilities too. Game design was different in that era as well, players liked being challenged, solving difficult encounters was rewarding. Modern games challenge is not appreciated, predominantly always provide an easy mechanism to push the story forward, on a whole i would say wasteland franchise is an easier game than fallout series games.

@AmpegV4 I tried this in the past but never went further than a few mission. Do you mean I can create characters later and ditch the first ones? So I'm not stuck with the first two?
Yeah exactly, The very first area is an intro of sorts to mechanics / tutorial. Once you finish that area, you meet some new characters of which 1 will allow you to create a full squad of your own guys.
I'm playing it now and I still think its a bit rough and runs like shit (the loading times seem fixed though).
You can remove and add characters any time you like which also acts as a cheese respec if you really want. For early game i had 3 PCs just to cover skills, since then replaced all but my two start PCs just for the extra dialog (there isn't much). Ranger difficulty to can play un-optimized (I'm only using 5 chars and having fun).
Why the fuck do they disable Savegame at seamingly random times.. its very very fucking annoying. I've had to repeat 2 hours of game now 3x, it lets me save after about 30-40% of the battle but not the rest for ? what reason, i dont understand.

Sometimes the game disables the option to save before a major battle (or cinematic), i think it's a bug that doesnt reinstate the posibility to save after it ends. The solution is to leave the zone (to another area or to the world map) and it corrects itself. I've also learned it the hard way.
Great game, lots of great content. Seems a bit easy on ranger mode, but I'm only lvl 7. Any tips about Lucia? She seems crap at everything. I know I can create characters, but I want to use companions.
Unfortunatelly also lots of bugs (even tho I am on newest version). Shooting through walls, missing animations.
I was playing on the Wastelander mode up to lvl 9. Currently lvl 14 ranger mode .
I kept Lucia because she has high lvl of weapon modding.

Get a good pistol for her, you'll find plenty and see if you can fit animal companion on her, I assume this skill is still broken.
okay i know you guys are going to get out the pitchforks and torches for this one, but i have to admit that my playing-time nowadays is mostly from the living room TV.
hence my blasphemous question, are gameplay controls a viable option for this one?
I'm level 15 and I am having a weapon problem. Besides some high level loot, all weapons at vendors are still low level. Since enemies are wearing good armor, only my sniper does great damage. Where do I good loot?
Do the main story mission up north with the Patriarch's son. Some vendors have some pieces of high level loot. You can also find some of the best items scattered around the world, in toasters and whatnot, but you'll need a guide for that.
I did the Denver quest, vendors don't really seem to restock. I had a radio call saying new gear was available at HQ, but everything Delgado sells seems to be the same. It feels like every enemy got an equipment upgrade and my team missed the boat
Since no one would or could predict "it will never stop snowing" you wouldn't do it. If the ground is too frozen i guess it'd be better to cremate the body..
One entertaining thing is that if you play coop, you can spread rumours about the other player.
I had sex with a prostitute goat...apparently my gf (who i play coop with) told this to one of the doctors, so once I arrived to get healing he was really angry at me kept telling me about the dangerous of disease when having beastiality
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.
