Anyone know the solution to this? I tried everything that was done for AoE III which also refuse to install on win2k (but played smoothly once it was installed)

Well get a firewall and antivirus then... Or just sit around waiting for people to come up with solutions on how to install on older O/S's all the time...

Bah I used 2k a long time ago (and yes I still use it on less good hardware I have around here). I prefer XP though, don't feel like fucking around with games to install them on 2k.

But I gotta say that you atleast are using 2k. I can't think of those poor fuckers still using 98...

what if I dont have XP? does it work if I copy the installation files to my harddrive and run it? or do I have to Install it first on a computer before copying it over?

EDIT:

I just ran the.zip files on the disc, I think I've got everything, can someone take a screenshot of their root folder and show me what it looks like?

EDIT AGAIN:

I just copied everything over but it will not run pass the splash screen at the begining. splash screen just dispears and the game does not run.

I've used that method, and it worked just fine. Patch also installed without any problems.

Yes the same thing occured on my pc with the spitfire release, so i said forget this.
I got a copy of the reloaded release, did some editing with a hex editor and i come up with
LOTR Battle For Middle Earth 2 (ENG Only) (DVD5) (All OS's), i can make it any language i want but it can only be one language at a time but it works 100% played it for hours and it works on all operating systems forget that xp only crap. Though I did borrow the reloaded release thx guys Smile If you see it on the net it called "Lord of the Rings The Battle For Middle Earth 2 (ENG) (DVD5) (All OS's) - T3AMW0RK" Enjoy
