Hospital tells staff to use terms 'chestfeeding' and 'human milk'
Other gender-neutral language includes 'person' instead of woman
Terms like “chestfeeding” and “human milk” are being introduced at an NHS trust in a bid to boost inclusivity.
Staff have been asked to use gender-neutral language alongside – not instead of – traditional terms to ensure that all groups are represented.
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) is the first in the country to use what it calls the “additive use of gender-inclusive language”.
A policy document on the trust’s website explains that the approach involves “using gender-neutral language alongside the language of womanhood, in order to ensure that everyone is represented and included”.
It adds: “Gender identity can be a source of oppression and health inequality.
The dumbest thing I heard today and its only 8h40.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
Of course there is inequality. But there always will be, but these words will make some grand change? Or is this libtards who're doing their worst at washing away history now also trying to wash away genders? Just leave things to these clowns and humanity will be over and done with.
OK... So what is wrong with just breast milk? It's already neutral and still 100% correct. You can't say that men don't have breasts. Yeah, we might not have tiddies (at least a big percentage, sorry resident manboob owners), but it's not called tiddymilk either so who cares?

I know. Was in a group of brits while playing mmo's and it certainly didn't take much to blow their lids well, i've always got a knack for making people angry
Let's un-define everything and all will be equal ! Chest feeding..
The complete downfall of semiotics - which are a fine tool for profound analysis and is a pretty amazing object of study, but a disaster considering the field remains very immature, and when it's being used as a primary driving force in such a stupid way.

Irl you never hear these people screech because they are such a huge minority. edit: And those I know of don’t seem to make a fuss about it. But instead of tackling the economically important steps for inequality some people think that genderflattening will somehow reduce inequality.

Too right.
And I'm guessing the irl's that actually have legit issues that were helped/mitigated by transitioning are livid and ashamed each time one of these attention whores online spend every day reeeeeing about stupid shit.

Both the guys/gals/xeyrs/xors that I know of had huge issues with family and fitting in with everyone else. One of them went through periods of alcoholism and being suicidal at a quite young age (you know drinking the whisky on mornings at 16y old). His parents took years to accept. Both were students of mine at some point.
But what I see is that kids who would have considered themselves gay just a few years ago are now more and more tending towards trans.
But aside from the topic, they are a really tiny minority compared to the general population.

There are only two genders. If someone doesn't agree, it's on his/her end, no need for science to bow down to mental illness, rebellion or confusion.
They're gonna be sorry when they realise that the line had to be drawn there, now they'll have to extend it further and further, because these people are never satisfied, they're depressed or angry and are just out to cause trouble, it's not about being "offended" or not, it is never the issue with these people.
I like to support the idea that biological sex and gender are a different thing. Everything else is pure tradition and honestly holds no absolute value besides people holding on to it for whatever reason. Mostly, to feel secure about themselves or the world they live in and how they see it.
The biological sex depends on function, something either ejaculates sperm or produces eggs. Some people are born between these things, but the norm obviously favors reproduction. But to whatever people feel attracted to, that's also very complicated, much more than I ever thought, and it's far less psychological than hormonal and can depend on so many factors, one being the mothers hormonal level in the first weeks of emotional life. So there are effectively people born with a sex that doesn't correspond to the gender that society traditionally attributes to it.
I know I've written this before and I remember Leo having a lot more detail to add. But it seems to me many people (including me) are quite uneducated when it comes to how sexuality works. Obviously because it's a complex subject that neurologists and biologists and psychologists work with, who have just more science than the average Joe.
