I tried to finish previous PF like two months ago. I had game breaking bug and I didn't care for loading save from like 10hrs of gameplay before (was already bored). I specially waited for long time till they patch it up properly after my friend told me that he had 2 runs and didn't manager to finish the game.
I had this ranger fellow with wolf in team, I have appointed him for council seat and after few missions I have noticed that the took all places for himself Very Happy And I couldn't move him from any .
I think I will pass this one. I don't believe that they can make this game work.

Wonder how they'll balance turn based and RTWP combat.

Same as the first game. Balanced around RTWP and TB just being an optional after thought.

Personally I wish it was the other way round, as TB balance would mean less trash and meaningless fights and more significant encounters, but hey.

TB for KM was fun for big encounters, but had to be turned off for most of the trash fights if you didn't want to die of boredom.

The time is nigh, and the beta is coming!

Initially, we were going to begin the beta in January, but decided to give ourselves a little extra time to add the long-awaited turn-based mode! That’s right, the turn-based mode is coming to beta. And the beta is coming on the 2nd of February.

What else can you expect from the beta? Let’s see: 4 chapters, although the 4th one is only partially finished at the moment, and not all art is ready for it yet; some new archetypes, some new quests you haven’t seen in the alpha, the first stages of some romances, and of course - some bugs. Additionally, you will be allowed to stream the first 3 chapters of the beta. Are you excited? We are very excited! We can’t wait to show you our game, and to stream it, and to watch you stream it, and to see your feedback! It’s the last stage in development where your feedback can affect and change some aspects of the game, and that’s why it’s such an important milestone for us, and hearing what our backers think will be invaluable to our team.

Someone posted a torrent for the beta on Rin. I'm sorely tempted, but I think I'll hold off. It does sound like it is actually surprisingly less buggy than you'd expect, but since it lacks the final chapter anyway I'll wait until release.

I have the beta (the legit way). And I know my DnD pretty well, 30 hours in, I found only one bug on a Zen archer, sometimes the flurry of blows would stop working after an area transition.

That is all.

I am very surprised, Kingmaker was a lot, lot, lot more buggier.

There are minor incompletenesses, but it is all good.

From what I've seen - there is a lot of placeholder stuff, animations missing (mounted combat for example), just general stuff missing so I decided not to play it.

It's already a ton more polished than Kingmaker apparently. Admittedly not a particularly high bar.

Owlcat is lucky in that they have a lot of devoted fans willing to play this beta. Lots of beta players means they'll get useful feedback and catch a lot of bugs they missed internally.

Considering this seems to be much more ambitious than Kingmaker in terms of branching, they'll definitely need it.

Nice, instabought. Costs a bit more than Kingmaker, but still worth it. The leaked beta was fun.

I bought Kingmaker afer an hour with the isodemo. Even with all it's (many, many) bugs it was an extremely good game and reminded me of Baldur's Gate, unlike Pillars.

Same here. I downloaded it in 4 minutes, but it's typical steam depotcache files. Those might actually unpack and decrypt longer than it will take to download the full game Laughing
