Steam release of The Frontier will have a short delay but the Nexus version will still be uploaded as originally planned.

No game-breaking bugs so far. Liking the atmosphere, new weapons, armors, and enemies.

This, because I already have a gog version installed (and modded using MO2 with the correct inis for that on the instance folder). I *could* get the nexus version but njeh. Going through MGS5: PP, Metro Exodus and Metro Last Light right now, this mod can wait 1 - 2 weeks.

How bout a mini review then?
And how's performance (include your system specs pls)? Does it have a launcher like Enderal where you can push the settings beyond vanilla, use ENB, use multi-core fixes etc etc?

Mini-review:
I'm nearing the end of Chapter 1 (there is a Chapter 0 so to speak) and am very happy so far.
The story is great, the voice acting is great. The scripted events work well. Driving is pretty good given the engine (driving is completely optional so far) No game breaking bugs so far. Enjoying it MUCH more than CyberP, but that's not saying much. (this is a real RPG ya know)
I've run across about 5 factions so far, none have offered me to join, although I do admit I skip through quite a bit of the dialogue options as I'm afraid they will give me a choice that I'll have to make and regret (I wanna keep my options open and choose much later)
You can start the game in New Vegas and get gear and such and level up, but it's all unnecessary, as you'll be given the recommended option of dropping all of your gear and perks and starting from scratch.
There are quite a bit of new weapons, armors, items and enemy types. I haven't run across any new perks, but it's been a few years since I've played and also haven't unlocked them all. There are SOOOOO many enemies if you walk into buildings and wanna have fun. Thankfully there is a TON of ammo to pick up, but still find myself running short at times. Thus, I'm not OP and it seems pretty balanced so far.

I haven't messed with a launcher nor nexus vortex, etc. The devs have a sticky on nexus showing the exact way and order to manually install the mods. I would HIGHLY recommend this method, as my first attempt was with nexus vortex and ran into quite a few issues.
There is a INI file that the devs recommend you get which you enter your cores (very straight forward guide)

There really isn't a reason to wait on the steam release....IMO. Just set aside a good 15-25 minutes to follow the guide the devs provide and you'll be ready to rock n roll immediately following.

Thanks for the review. Glad to hear it seems fairly polished, on the one hand the mod is pretty old by now but on the other... it's gamebryo

My performance is actually very bad with the mod. I get like 30 - 35fps in the first base (the airport) and like 45 or so in the first mission in the city. No clue why, cause I run modded NV at like 100 FPS. Ryzen 1600x, RX580 8G and 16 gigs of ram.
Edit: Also what sticky post are you referring to?

Yeah.
About performance, it's very spotty with this game, like with most games with this engine.. for my own mods i get a variety of comments ranging from "the mod runs great, i get 60 FPS no problems" to "my game is unplayable after using your mod."
Time to back up my heavily modded game and do a new install with this...

All kidding aside but not really, I'm glad to hear that the mod is a decent attempt all things considered. I shall also wait for Gabe's version though and for more hotfixing 'n patching as per usual.
