Take command of the Union or the Confederacy. Prepare your nation for war, recruit and organize great armies and fleets under legendary commanders like Grant, Lee, Jackson or Farragut, plan cunning maneuvers on an epic campaign map and defeat your enemies in real-time battles!

--------
It's like a complex Total War done right: You manage your country and such on a real-time strategic map of the US, then engage in tactical combat (AI battles are an option) when armies are clashing.

Even if in EA, it's a well-rounded game already, and the pace and quality of the updates are nothing short of satisfying and reassuring.

Tested it yesterday, a MUST BUY for a fan of the genre. 40$ is an incredible price too Surprised

Different one.

Those are the "Ultimate General" games and now also "Ultimate Admiral".

Indeed. Loved their Civil War one, so I'm biaised for this type of games I guess Razz
But this adds nice layers to it. I'm bought and sold.

As a fan of the genre, 40$ is a steal.
I want to see more of these type of games. Think of it, this title has BOTH a Historical feel to it WHILE having nice, realistic tactical phases.

It's sometimes rough around the edges, not gonna lie, but then again, that' swhat EA is about.
At least the devs released a working beta, that doesn't seem to have ludicrous bugs and such. Some nonesense here and there, some balancing/behaviour issues.

But nothing that can't be fixed with the existing code and team it seems.
So far, they made good or better on every single one of their promises; extra content, bug fixes, balancing, UI, comfort issues.
Hard to find a commited team in times of ever-so short-term cash'n'grabs...

So yeah, big recommendation on my part Smile

I've been a fan of the genre since Civil War General, so I'll definitely check this out. Ultimate General: Civil War is an underrated gem. Finishing the south campaign on legendary was one of the best gaming experiences I ever had.
