Microsoft, you better not fucking fuck anything up, or i'll fuck you up. Ok, with that little mini rant out of the way, what can Microsoft possibly gain by this? What can we gain from this? A new mass grave of Japanese developer houses alongside good IP's?
Last time they had good JRPG's produced was lost odyssey and blue dragon(never played this). After this they've looked to actively avoid japaese games until Scalebound. which failed in the most spectacular fashion. Poor Platinumgames. They've produced so many good games and i bet Microsoft never was happy until it all fell apart. Japaanese being japanese, they took the fall and blamed themselves. This is a weakness of japanese people and culture. Microsoft being microsoft happily let someone else take the blame. This is a failure of western society.

What they gain is getting some good jap games on their consoles, they didn't have much of that.

And when they westernize these jap games too much, we'll be here having a different conversation. But before anything else, maybe Microsoft can... You know... Try to make some good games? Just in general. It's only Halo, Gears of war, Forza and Crackdown. And they haven't even made one decent AAA title outside that lineup for the whole last gen. Microsoft will kill anything, just wait. Because they just cannot take risks.

This works for everyone btw not just new accounts and it converts any remaining months of Gold you had to Ultimate. So if you are a Gold subscriber, first you should go max out the number of months you pay ahead for, and then for $1 you will have up to 3 years of Ultimate.

I bought 1 month on my stepsons account for 12$ and then used the ultimate deal and didn't get 12 months, or rather 15, but 6.

I think they changed the ratio:
1 month of Gold -> 20 days of Ultimate
3 months of Gold -> 50 days of Ultimate (1+ month)
6 months of Gold -> 79 days of Ultimate (2+ months)
12 months of Gold -> 4 months of Ultimate
24 months of Gold -> 8 months of Ultimate

I had 2yrs of gamepass for pc.
I used this game pass ultimate deal and now I have 2yrs 3months of ultimate. So its stacking if have had regular pass before.

And I found a nice little cheap way to extend game pass premium time.
I bought 6 of these: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - 7 days EU XBOX LIVE
Well, first 1 to try and then 5 more and used them all on my account and it worked.
They cost like 0.80€/7 days. So, quite a bit less than the standard monthly fee.
I bought mine from gamivo.
