I'd hold off with Viva New Vegas for just a while if you want to go the Wabbajack route, since Brave New World finally got released and it's quite likely it'll get added to the Viva install.

Quote:
Nearly four years in the making, Brave New World gathers the work of professional actors to revoice Fallout: New Vegas.

Many of the NPCs in New Vegas were memorable and well-acted; characters such as Legate Lanius, Caesar, Raul Tejada, Craig Boone, Cass, etc. However, due to time constraints, a large number of characters were voiced by the same person or a limited set of actors. As an example, Yuri Lowenthal provided the voice of Ringo, Oliver Swanick, Henry Jamison, Nolan McNamara, Lucius, Lars Taggart, Fitz, Keller, Scribe Ibsen, Knight Lorenzo, Ike, Antony, Otho, Alexus and Sergio, etc. Brave New World looks to improve upon this by adding improved casting and actor variety.

Throughout the project's development, we have cycled through 30,000 auditions, carefully selecting actors
and actresses that best fit the demeanor, personality, and appearance of almost 145 NPCs.

Interdasting... but something to try next year since I'm already 100 hours in on this year's run
EDIT: Wait, they're not even using the newish 4k pack textures that replace the vanilla stuff that was never done or only had a shitty sharped version? ewwwww

A lot of people play New Vegas on older setups, it's fine to have stuff like that as optional. Plus texture replacers are the easiest mods to install anyway.

I don't know if you are seriously asking this or not, but in my opinion New Vegas is one of the best RPG's of the last decade and it's miles better than 3 (I'm saying this as someone who loves 3) and if you haven't played it, you should.

Well men i liked both but New Vegas was one of my all time favourite. It just a great package with setting, story, locations and gameplay, and back then when i played it on Xbox 360 it looked great also, so yeah if you liked Fallout 3 you will probably enjoy NV as well.

Yeah... no. The talent is gone, and IMO The Outer Worlds showed just that.

Indeed, sadly it's evident that all the current teams working at Obsidian have little to offer these days, especially when it comes to writing and quest design. I'm playing Pillars 2 at the moment and even though the world, exploration and the actual core mechanics are pretty solid, the problem with bland storylines and uninteresting characters is definitely there as well. Still, my masochistic self wouldn't mind them trying, what could possibly go wrong

The mod looks amazing, but yeah, with these things we never really know. Not getting my hopes up either way Razz Sad

Sad thing is I was really looking forward to Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky getting back together for Outer Worlds, but the final product was very mediocre.

The real dream would have been getting Cain, Boyarsky and Avellone all working on a new fallout together, but Avellone's dramatic split from Obsidian (and subsequent cancelling over probable nonsense) have really put an end to that.

Yeah, that's the flabbiest DLC of the bunch. In my opinion, none of the add-ons really are/were on the same level as the main game though: Lonesome Road felt too linear and heavy-handed for its own good, Old World Blues pushed the whacky humour and bullet-sponge enemies a bit too far, and Dead Money was trapped inside its own self-confined structure. Still, they're definitely worth playing, especially the latter thanks to Avellone's unique writing.

Harris' videos are always great.

"Sell it to who, BEN?! FUCKING AQUAMAN?!" Laughing

His autopsy of FO3 is also highly recommended. Very Happy

You're most likely right, the first time i played the game to completion i avoided all the DLC's, now i installed all and i'm beginning to think it was a mistake.

A day?! damn you're fast. If i could mod Skyrim or FNW in a day i would play it way more often, i spend at least a week, often that's not enough. It sucks and the older i get the less i feel like spending time with that sort of stuff.

I just stick with Wabbajack these days, good enough even if there's always some mods (or mod omissions) that I wouldn't have personally picked. Can't beat the convenience.

I'll take anything at this point as long as it isn't a cringe-worthy fanfiction-y fest, let's hope this one is at least acceptable in that regard. As for it being playable without needing to throw mini-nukes at the screen...that's probably another story Very Happy

I did try New California but after the promising start it kept getting worse and worse so I eventually gave up (I plan to give it a second chance in the future though). Didn't know about Dust, thanks! That looks pretty interesting indeed Very Happy
