But they are not 402 million after the taxes. That's what I mean. Smile

Yes, but then you log into the game and there are always many people in any server. CIG say there are at least 5 000 people playing at any time. That's more than most finished 5+ years old MMO's out there. It's even Ranked №10 in the MMO popularity charts....
That MMO list sorted for active players even has SC at №7 - above Elder Scrolls Online and Black Desert Online. And almost doubles the active players of Guild Wars 2 Surprised
Insane for a barebones and full of bugs Alpha game.

oh lol is this scam still going on?
there is a point in time where a game cant live up to the hype anymore even if it releases since gfx, performance wont be up2date anymore etc.

how long have we waited for duke nukem forever again?
now its forgotten.

here they just split the game into modules reducing the scope trying to get even more money.only have a fraction finished of what they promised etc. plus performance issues. this will bomb so hard ;/ sad but true

Haha. I read some old article of when Firesprite was founded back in 2012 and was stunned at first to see Chris Roberts was a technical director but turns out it's a completely different person. Laughing

They already have a few separate PVP modules in the game, Star Marine for ground and Arena Commander for space, they are more like team death match for ground or space combat. This new module just makes it be more like a Battlefield type setting with it all tied together but I think the reason they have these modules is because once the game gets to a point with character and property persistence you will not want to just go guns blazing COD style in ground play or space combat as it will have consequences so these are the alternatives to just have mindless fun if you just want to kill stuff.

bart5986? He probably got tired of heathens constantly making fun of his lord and saviour Roberts and his holy childe Star Citizen.

Well, no way for "late 2022". Judging from their roadmap at the very best SQ42 will come in mid 2023, but knowing CIG most likely even 2024... And after that there will be the Gloriously Amazingly Terrific Fantastic Beast - Star Citizen Awesome

this game will only be ready when they start using a.i. to automate stuff, it's silly that game development is still so primitive and nobody bothers about creating tools to get stuff done easier way.

My good lord. I read most of the posts in this thread and thought ,’no, the two games will be out soon’. I subscribed to the mailing list of RSI for updates on the 2 games progress.
Never, ever, ever going to happen. How this scam is perpetuated is a mystery to me.

Also, I have designed some ships, really good ones, that are cross compatible. They’re massive. PM me for my account number and sort code and I’ll put them on your Facebook or Tiktok.

Every time a post is made in this thread I'm reminded of the games "existence" only to forget it 5 minutes after leaving the thread. I'm an original $10 backer from waaay back in 2012. That's ~9 years of development.. and it's still in alpha. I don't give a crap about this game anymore.

No No guys. Game is coming, its going to be better than anything ever released, you just don't understand the vision Laughing

This is where the industry was heading for ages, make big promises , show a few slides and pre-rendered shit.. profit massively from gamer derp, release some half baked maybe at some point.

At this point fairly sure he can just calL the alpha 1.0 and move on, i don't think he's even liable if he just takes the money and runs.

Dean rocket became a multi millionaire dropping two broken alphas on the masses, in fact i don't think he's finished a product. But hey give the customers what they want, they will keep paying and being suckers.

Molyneux inspired by what he saw, realised he could do the same merely tapping into customers curiosity and making a shitty mobile app.

Chris trumps them all realising you didn't even need to release anything in playable state to make a big hit.

You just don't get it. This game is not supposed to be played by you. You're supposed to bankroll it until you die, and make sure your children do as well so maybe your grandchildren can have a beta.

I forgot all about this game. People STILL throwing money at it??

Took me and a friend 4 days to get bored of it.
Like what 6 years now or something? For them to make the equal of one EvE solar system, that your options are walk around stations with no point, walk around caves with no real point, or play space fed ex carrying boxes between those stations.
I guess fighting AI too, but they are super basic. Even EvE's player launched drones have more AI than these.

Nearing $400 million, the most expensive video game in development ever. All from donations, hype and jpeg sales.

Wonder why the big publishers had no interest in space simulation games
