That was some good CGI, better than Episode 8/9 It fits in the Star Wars story line because this series is based nine years after A New Hope and five years after the Emperor's defeat in Return of the Jedi.
I found it ok as a season (or even series?) finale. Could have been a lot less fanservice though, that droid as a companion was just that (fanservice) and the characters stood around really awkwardly with their hands crossed doing nothing while the scene played out.

Really great, loved it. Listening to a podcast (midnight's edge) right now, the fucking nagging from some fans, my god.. why not give up SW completely if you are like that, because you're never going to be happy anyways.
Will there be a Mandalorian Season 3?
The good news is that there will be no shortage of Star Wars content going forward, with a number of spin-offs coming in 2021. The slightly bad news is that The Mandalorian Season Three will return slightly later than normal, with Disney confirming that the release date is Christmas 2021.
We can always hope for at least some of that stuff to be decent. The Mandalorian for me is the best of the Disney-era Star Wars stuff. The sequel trilogy was ugh, the Solo movie was... well, not my thing.. Rogue One was okay but it lacked something for me, not quite feeling like Star Wars.
The finale was fantastic, but I think it doesn't have anything on the finale of Clone Wars. That being said, that was the finale of the entire series, while this only of the season. In any case, very much happy to get good SW content again!

Watched it, loved it. This is in stark contrast to this weeks episode of STD where feels were so forced, they almost vomited, when here, I felt at least a connection between characters.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
The mask removal would have been far more effective if it had happened for the first time this week as it would have been a far more poignant moment
Yes, even better would have been if it was the first time. i bet a lot of that had to do with Pedro himself since he's been bitching about not having enough face time in the series.
I do like his voice acting but like many celebs he seems totally retarded as a person.
Nice season and VERY NICE finale. Sure, fan servicing to infinity, but felt giddy as a schoolboy Glad they went with deep fake Luke than some shitty actor. Close ups were a bit weird though. I thought I was done with Star Wars, but fuck, the original trilogy (including Jedi) and its characters are still great.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
The last episode perhaps had a more elevated level of than I expected, but it was handled in a respectful way despite the technical awkwardness, as per usual with the show and its (successful ) attempt to keep the Force in balance. It would have indeed served nicely as a series finale as well.
They have plenty of opportunities from now on to expand on it and even use it as a starting point, hoping that it won't reek of thala-sirens' stale milk.
I thought it was a facepalm moment, totally unnecessary. As Waldo said, was there no one else in the SW universe to use? I also agree about the helm coming off, should never have happened in the previous ep.
No it fucking wasn't. Finally we got to see the Jedi that matters to all the fans, and in a scene that made him more justice than the sequels did together.
It was big fat fuck off to Kathlyn Kennedy's "the force is female" BS and all the SJW Reylo's..
Any other Jedi and it would have been a fart in the wind, no one would have cared, it had turned an epic reveal into a giant meh..

sending another jedi would not have made a lot of sense, he's just far too important. unfortunately i do think Groku's blood will play a role in how Rey became so powerful :/ We'll see...
Connecting to them. Theyre not going to erase 7 8 9. Just connect to them to make them more. Like clone wars adds to the prequel trilogy.
We showed ashoka or whatever her name is.
There are many other possible Jedi. They could have used someone else. I really really really don't want to look at a cgi face next season. Like... its childish and stupid imo. This was nicely tucked away away from sw trilogies. Had little nods here and there to the trilogies. But that's it. Why link them? For a massive galaxy, where they need to use hyperspace from location to location, a different Jedi would have added more to the universe and story.
It was a forced cop out imo. Had a chance for serious potential to stray away from the trilogies, but instead they had to link it all. (Looks like rich evans was right. They will always stick to the original characters cause they can't think outside the box)
So now, where was the child in 7 8 9. Luke gave up training and ran away like a pussy boy. And no one talks about the child in 7 8 9. So the child dies? Since Luke is the last remaining jedi? So he sucks at training other jedi? He's no master.
Opening up for more jedi, that are not part of anything but just jedi practicing shit much like different mandalorians. Those who never take off the helmet, and those who just follow the code, but not the super duper silly books. Would have been so much more interesting. Stories that stray away from the trilogies are much better. Rogue one was soo good until they had to include Vader. Mandolorian was soo good until Bobba showed up and they went mcu way to connect everything.
As good as the episode was, even showing off the stronk wamen was actually decent and bad ass, the last moment to me meant nothing since I don't care about the trilogies. Any of them. It was just a... oh ffs moment to me.
We'll see if they "erase" 7,8,9 like e.g Doomcock predict.. This with the Veil of the Force (introduced in Rebels). There are some hints perhaps in the Ahsoka title card that we've seen, looks close to it.. And for those that doesn't know it's something which connects time, space and alternative realities.
To me this forced need to always think outside the box is what kills some new shows for me (JJTrek, JJWars, STD, Picard etc.). Sometimes sticking to old clichés and doing what just works isn't so bad. Star Wars never was particularly deep or outside the box. And neither is the Mandalorian. The character is totally OP, the story predictable without twists and the good/bad clichés are typical. But it still works, because its just well done.
Having this particular Jedi in the finale was what made it worth a finale since it was the only possible upgrade to having already had another Jedi before. The way he completely overpowered the enemy could only have been done by someone exceptionally skilled.
But I understand thats not what all people like.
