I saw it with my girlfriend, it wasn't that bad of a story it touched me but not in a gay way. IT COULDV'E USED LESS GAY SCENES BUT I JUST LOOKED AWAY.

what are you talking about, murder is a hoot as long as its not you or someone you like. you cant compare that to queers, because its a completely different issue. having said that, im indifferent about fags. i neither like nor hate them at the immediate moment.

I feel this movie is shit because there are gay elements in it yes and that's not silly at all. I don't care if they are acting or not It's happening on screen that's what matters. When you see gay people you don't have to act like OMG THAT'S SO WRONG KILL THEM, HANG THEM OMG EVERYONE WHO WATCHES THAT MUST BE GAY TOO SO HANG THEM AS WELL. That's just childish. But being disgusted by seeing two gay cowboys going up a mountain hugging, kissing, humping eachother, well that's just a healthy hetereosexual reaction, may you be 100% secure about your sexuality or not.
Btw I believe that being secure about your sexuality has absolutley nothing to do with people liking this movie or not.

OK just checking, I assume it's male homosexuality that's the problem because I think that if it were 2 chicks that fell in love people wouldn't have such a problem with it.
I personally am not gay and I don't know any gay people. My interest lies in the film itself. I liked Ang lee's former movies and was curious to see what this was. I mean the last movie he made was The Hulk and then he makes Brokeback, 2 very strange choices and that interests me.
I actually think that Brokeback mountain was a good film althougha little slow. I am also not a big Heath Ledger fan.

I think this film is extremely overrated, probably cause of it's subject. I kept waiting for something to happen, I expected one of them to get killed or something, sort of an ending like in Boys Don't Cry, but it never came. The way that Jack guy died sounded pretty lame to me.

Thought you didn't care about this movie? The way it seemed to me, reading all the "haha gay movie, I'll pass", I guessed nobody in this thread wanted to see it so who cares if somebody spoils the ending anyways...

I just got the feeling that this movies is mostly popular for teeling a story about two gay cowboys, mainly because cowboys are suposed to be these macho men riding around in the desert with guns chasing thieves and rounding up cattle. But hey wait a sec, these "boys" got feelings, lets make a gay scene and score some cheap hollywood points! Hey wait i got a better idea, lets make lots of gay scenes and make them have kids and wifes, and more gay scenes so we can get the dillema.
Buy hey, havnt seen the movie this is just the way i feel about it without actually have seen it.

So you say don't let them have kids and wives, instead let them live happily ever after or get killed off half way through the movie, that doesn't sound cliche at all.
It ain't no cheap hollywood idea to me, it's about making a movie that hasn't been done before, it may just all sound very obvious to you but then why didn't another movie took the credit before this one.

Well, I dunno bout others, but me personally...I have no interest in gay love or gay cowboys or their struggle. Im not gunna knock someone for liking the movie, or call them gay...but based on my opinions and stuff and my likes and dislikes, i dont really care to waste my time watching a movie i know im not going to like. |

Bunch of intolerate retards. But considering most of you are barely 18 and without much of an education, I assume that in about 10 years at least a great deal of you will be ashamed for the comments you made here.
The part that will not be, ironically, will most likely get to spend blowing guys to support their crack addiction.
Like it or not though, this is one of the best love stories ever made and will be greatly rewarded on the 5th of Marsh. And in the end, the pathetic few that think they can enhance their heterosexuality by making homophobic remarks at this film - making them look like jackasses in the process - is just a very insignificant little bunch of no-ones.

They made a movie and gave people a choice to watch it or not to watch it, giving reason for not watching is isnt at all intolerant. If you have no interest in gays or homosexuals then thats their choice and you can yell and flame all you want. But now that you flame people for teeling how they feel about homosexuals and gives reasons not to watch the movie, its more or less you that are intolerant to their, call it what you wanna call, ideas.
That said some people might not give reasons for not watching it with a line like "i dont like gays, its a movie about gays" then you can perhaps in some ways be correct in your post, but attack all of us that in a nice way say we dont exactly enjoy the homosexuals in our commutity, but calling us intolerant, thats just sad and says more about you then me.
And about the "chaing opinion thing" then you perhaps right, but every opinions is to be reconsidered at some part.

There are people with all different kinds of sexual deviations. I have no desire to watch the movie about homosexuals as well as i have no desire to watch movie about people who find pleasure in, say, eating feces. There is no phobia on my side, you do what you want to do, i don't care and i find no pleasure in watching you do it.
