Thing is, people will deliberately look for things wrong now, whereas before, in past, they were perfectly happy to just play Wink

Now, did anyone ever say 'Lost Soul' was glitched in Doom back then?, like, it floated or moved in a wrong way? Nope. Smile

Game needed another year. Investors wanted payout now, to coincide with new console launch/new GPU launch. Devs probably knew this was utterly ridiculous, but were told to 'just make it work'.

And as I said before, there was clearly a focus shift at some point in the last few years to a GTA style game, instead of the original vision of a proper RPG. Hence the bad mashup of skill tree vs gameplay mechanics - and the lack of time needed to flesh the game out as was very clearly intended.

Kinda feel sorry for those devs who did their best to deliver really.

Damaged. Mentally and physically damaged. But I guess the game reflects its corporate storyline and broken promises... V is the digital embodiment of all players around the globe, trying to make sense of a ruined world.

Without the immortality, of course.

Internal QA testing is always a red flag. I can just imagine the amount of "Oh I better don't say anything bad about our product, someone else will anyway..." and then nobody does and the devs think their shit smells like roses because everyone keeps telling them it's all good and dandy...

True, but it isn't just that. From my experience as a developer that often has to do internal testing (small internal dev team), you tend to subconsciously test things in the way they were intended to work.

Also if there is a way something can be broken, end users WILL find it, no matter how great your defensive coding abilities are.

I'm often shocked at some of the obscure bugs people find in our apps, the steps to reproduce them are often like some sort of arcane ritual.

Patched AI can still be shit AI. They should continue developing this in a similar way to No Man's Sky so it can live up to the pre-release hype. I've stopped playing it now as I can wait a couple of months to see if they can redeem themselves.

Yeah starting February because the team needs rest (which is totally deserved and actually a pretty good move) so give it a a year or 2 for the finished state.

An investor specifically asks about the NPC and AI behavior, citing the backlash it's received online by customers. CDPR's answer is that the AI and NPC behavior is part of the bugs, and the patches that come in January and February will address those issues/bugs. Nothing more in depth was said about the AI.

Crit chance from clothing / weapon / mods etc is insane so everything dies very quickly now

Might as well not even have weapon perks

Armadillo armour mods break survivability as well. Although they are only common, they scale with level when crafted and can be crafted higher quality.

Got them equipped in every armour mod slot. Practically unkillable on very hard.

I don't think that these problems are easily fixable, but I guess we'll see.

Also in regards to the QA, I swear there were reports of them going third party like 6 months ago

In the voice call you can clearly hear them saying that yes they were using 3rd party team but that 3rd party team declined the testing due to the covid, since their team don't have the HW at home, so they had to rely on in house WFH testing.

AI: Well I would say it's their call. My personal opinion is the same as yours that I would say that is not something you can easily and quickly fix, but hey let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

Oh i see, I was going on this quote above:

Quote:
They also state earlier in the call there was limited QA testing done on the game, it was all done "in house" and no experienced third party contractors were used.

In regards to AI and pathfinding, it really is fixable and they have a good track record with patches, but this may take a year of active development to reach the results that were once promised. (in regards to the AI)

With that said I still like the other aspects of the game a lot and will definitely follow its progress.

What is better than this car?

It's quick off the mark, is small enough to go through gaps, alleys and so on. It's fast. It's free. It works well in and out of the city.

I bought what was supposedly the best car in the game ($160K) and it handles like shit. It's also too big to navigate tight spaces.

I love that little thing

Where do you get it?

I bought that first sedan Padre sells but handling like the starter car is shit. Just been riding Jackie's bike since I got it but I'm also getting tired of getting thrown off and falling a couple of levels.

that car is limited to only 120 speed
it's the first car you can buy after your beginning car gets totaled

What a clusterfuck, but that internal call was very interesting to hear. Very Happy

Multiplayer seems already dead, they will reassess in January as they didn't expect the current fallout, but even 2023 seems doubtful, and I simply don't see this game having such a longevity. At least NMS had sandbox features in the base game that could be expanded upon.

Also after crunching their devs, serious patching will only start in February, which is way too late. People want to play this during their Christmas holidays.

My guess is they will go full fanservice with Witcher 4, to try win their fanbase back, but who knows what the result will be. I didn't even know W4 was planned, as I thought they wanted to expand their games instead of being a 'Witcher-game company', but probably will get full attention now to get some trailer/preview out, in an attempt of damage control.
Only a fully focused pc title might do that, but are they willing to do it this time? They could have released Cyberpunk on pc, and release consoles a year later, like an inverse Rockstar.
Question is of course, was the game actually ready for pc or was that also bs?

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

I bought Shion MZ2 pretty early in the game and I like it a lot.

It's fast, but also turns pretty good, it's perfect for the city street races.
