I won't argue what really is an RPG, but i have played the vast majority of them. This immersion argument is completely subjective. For me its narrative. How invested i am in the story. Its not if i can have a hair cut, sit down and eat or stores with interactive display shelves (seriously). Does the honor system have any impact on the missions? I don't think so.
Story is just a tiny part of what makes an open world game an experience, playing open world games for story, ok sure, but it's not really what the genre excels at generally or why we play them. it's obviously good if it does have a good story but all the other parts needs to work too. GTA or RDR is superior, no doubt.. i'd much rather walk around in GTA and experience random stuff than in CP, its just boring. From what i understand it does not even have the random encounters which i think we would expect from all open world games at this point.

Nobody says it’s flawless. It’s just infinitely a better game than this turd. There is a lot of objective and subjective criticism that can be lobbed at RDR2. But the two games are on completely different levels.
If Rockstar did this game, it would of been done in 4 years, better AI, better story, better on consoles and maybe released on PC at the same time plus everything else they would of done right. Cyberpunk is a disaster, they will never be able to fix all these bugs even with all patches they do, their own engine they used can't be fixed and it wasn't made for this sort of game, they would need to release 60gb+ patches to fix this shambles, I mean how can they fix the interaction with the AI and how they react with the player, it would mean they would have to redo the whole engine to do that, they should of just left it with a story and little levels like Deus Ex and not made it an open world, just my opinion.
Well if we're talking about the narrative / building your character kind of thing, I think they failed to do that as well.
I mean, I dunno how they marketed the life paths, but from what I saw when starting a new game, I was under the impression that this was one way to shape your character and open / close certain paths in the game for you.
Instead all we get is a choice between a Street Kid, a Nomad who was a Street Kid before he decided to become a Nomad, and a Corpo who used to be a Street Kid before he decided to start working for the man.
The Life Path choice is bullshit because if the Corpo prologue is anything to go by, it's 20 minutes of talking and then bam, you're fired and you begin your Street Kid life. I don't know if you ever meet your old boss or his rival and deal with that later in the game. Maybe you will and that'd be great, but there's still the issue of how V basically talks like he was a Street Kid.
It's only when you get the option to use [CORPO] in a conversation that he suddenly stops sounding like a Street Kid before resuming his Street Kid ways. Also those choices are bullshit. They don't really add anything and only make you say the same thing as the other yellow choices but in a [CORPO] way. The end result is the same.
I don't feel like I'm playing a V who wasted his life as a slave to Arasaka. I feel like I'm playing a V who grew up on the streets of Night City who somehow managed to get a Corpo gig.
Then there's the case of how you're truly able to shape your character down to their genitals, and yet that doesn't really factor into anything in the game apart from who you can romance. So what was the point of adding it? Free marketing so streamers can act surprised when they scroll down to that bit during character creation?
Though I will say that their decision to make certain characters only be romanceable by a V of a certain sexuality is good as that makes those characters feel more real, unlike in Dragon Age 2 (dunno if this is the case for DA3 or ME3) where pretty much everyone was bi and thirsty for the hero.
Keanu wise, I'm not really clicking with him as Johnny. His trying to sound angry and full of rage is kinda cringey to be honest. There's a reason why the action films that are considered his best works has him playing someone who doesn't talk much and hides their emotions.
Story wise, it feels like the pacing is off. They should have just scrapped the prologue and just have you be a Street Kid since life path doesn't matter, and then scrapped half of the side gigs where it's just go here and kill this and then allocated those resources to making the prologue be the things you did with Jackie during that 6 months later montage at the start. That way you actually have a chance to give a shit about Jackie so that the thing that happened to him would be more impactful.
Then again, CDPR decided to spoil his death and you getting screwed by Dex in one of their trailers, so it's obvious that know Jackie is just a plot point to get you to Keanu. What a waste of a character.
I'll see how I like the characters as I progress the main plot further, but so far I'm going to have to give how well characters are written over to RDR2.

No, it wasn't. There are full sex scenes, with romance characters as well as joy toys (prostitutes), and even side characters.
Again, I have to repeat my point. There's so much wrong with CP 2077, yet people here pick on most miniscule points, and compare gameplay elements with RDR 2 which have no bearing on actual gameplay and wouldn't improve CP 2077 at all.
What would CP gain if they introduced a weight system? Or facial hair growth? You basically never see your character in the game (which is, you know, an actual flaw on which they could improve, since it makes customization almost pointless).
What would CP gain if they introduced garages? Nothing, all of your cars are literally available at a click of a single button.
There are tons of problems with CP 2077, but comparing RDR 2 and CP 2077 is like comparing The Witcher 3 with AC Valhalla (but even between those games there are more similarities than between RDR 2 and CP2077).
