It would be nice if some people would stop posting console shit on this forum section clearly labeled as "PC games arena" and move to console games section if they want to debate console problems, or will I have to report you?
I think there are fundamental things about this conversation you don't understand
The subreddit is circlejerking right now about police AI and among all stuff wrong with the game, it's the least impactful... unless you're treating this like a futuristic GTA. And I think this is the biggest fuckup of their marketing, because it changes the paradigm of judging the game from an action RPG to an open world sandbox experience.
Seriously, the people who OK'd this game ought to be hanged
I LOVE THESE
other things that i noticed on the character customization is the lacking of height and body mass .. i guess it didnt work with the scripted character
but honestly , one part of me is laughing but the other one is quite sad ( disappointed )
Lets hope a new deus ex comes soon and gives us a proper cyber experience.
I browsed through the old Witcher 3 patches.. man, some of those are quite extensive. At least it gives me some hope it'll be a decent game in perhaps a year. I do think this is more broken than Witcher 3 was though.
People just need to realize that CDP isn't a private company that can do whatever it wants anymore. They're a publicly traded business just like EA and UBI now. You as a customer no longer matter. Management doesn't care about you.
They have investors to make happy. Shareholders that want money. They waited through multiple delays. They want their money.
Video game sales are at an all time high due to nothing going on because of Covid. 2 brand new consoles just released. Brand new video cards just released. Xmas is this month, and those consoles and video cards need that brand new shiny overhyped game for sales.
What do you get when you mix all 3 of those? You get a game that paid for it's development and marketing costs on day one straight into making profit. Making investors and shareholders happy.
The game wasn't done. Were you lied to? Maybe, that's what it feels like. There's a lot of things in this game that show it wasn't ready. A lot of things that show there's placeholders for something better. It was clearly still needing months of work, from food vendors having special icons on the minimap but not being able to interact, signs showing "example text" and the list of clear bugs go on.
If this was a private company, the game wouldn't be out, it wouldn't be out until next year. They only would have themselves and their customers to make happy. When you have people who own you, only thing management cares about is making them happy at any cost. When they're not happy, that's when they come in and cancel projects and fire people.
Gabe and valve take a lot of shit from people because they don't develop games as often as they used to but guess what, Gabe owns the company. He only has him, his employees and customers to care about. They can go silent for years and then release something like Half Life Alyx that becomes the benchmark of how to make a VR game. That's because there's no one telling Gabe what to do with his company.
This release was about the money it could make this year. That's it.
Management wanted it released. Therefore it got released.
The pandering that CDP seems to get like they're the holy grail of developers needs to stop. They're a company, not anyone's friend.
True.
Sadly, this is most likely what can be expected when investors are involved as they care about profits and not the game.
My issue with the game isn't with the bugs though. Bugs can be fixed, but I doubt they'd be willing to rework or add new systems/features in the gameplay.
Also having more fun in the Badlands than I am in the city for some reason. Probably because I don't have to worry about sudden turns when driving around. Don't know why they decided to not put in arcade driving when they were going for an action adventure game, and they know the driving is bad because the only car chase mission I've run into so far (or that I can remember) is that one Delamain taxi mission. Otherwise they would have added more of this type of missions. Also not a fan of the riding shotgun missions where you can't really kill enemies because they're scripted to smash into a car down the road and explode cinematically.
But hey I finally managed to get outfits that work together and are the highest stat outfits I currently have. It won't last though as I'll probably run into something better next mission.
Really wish instead of this looter shooter crap, they instead just made it so you had base guns/clothing and what you would find would be mods and those are the ones that adjust to your level, as well as the ability to dye/customize the look of guns/clothes. So I'm not finding legendary shoes with +10% movement speed but have 20 armor and looks like ass.
Yes, I really hate the loot system. Completely out of place for the setting. Every big name cyberpunk have their signature weapon and fasion but you are forced to swap out outdated equipment with mismatched rubbish.
Sure, if you want to stick to a single weapon or clothing item you like you can upgrade it every time you level up, but that is only feasible for a couple levels as upgrade costs increase REAL fast and the amount of materials needed will be ludicrous after 3-4 upgrades.
Really hope they will do something about this in one of the balance patches, because it's completely antithetical to the setting.

You people living in games and taking them too seriously.
These are just hilarious bug, even if immersion breaking. I am still in the first part of the game with about 10 hours in and liking the game pretty much. Seen a lot of bugs like these but all they do is make me laugh. Don't understand why would someone be angry with them.
Luckily so far I encountered only one serious game breaking bug when I couldn't progress a mission but that was more about my "game limit testing" than a real bug. Now for such bugs I understand people to be angry about. But calling out to hang people is totally not cool either way.

I think its the overall amount of bugs that factor into this. Having bugs minute after minute is quite immersion breaking.
Like your friend joking on the meeting is fine for 1 or 2 times but after that.....

most people don't play a RPG to laugh at bugs, they play to be immersed into the world etc. You could say some of these bugs takes you out of the experience, and not just a bit, but completely.
This kind of reminds me of Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
-Tiered loot like in an action RPG and way too much of it...
-Braindead or non-existing AI
-Beautiful, yet dead world.
-Only scripted parts are good.
-Everything else isn't.
They do check a lot of the same boxes.
Of course, you can argue, which has the better-scripted parts, but that's beside the point.

What was the devs take on that game? did they fix it eventually, or they didnt give a shit?
This is their unity guys.
Don't worry their next game will take twice as long to make to ensure people won't want to refund. Itll still be buggy, but not as and therefore a goty.

Well, it's Ubi. They DID change a lot of the game, including adding ai teammates, making tiered loot optional, "improving AI" etc. etc. which is an A for effort, but the world and background itself is abysmal and boring AF, so it didn't really help (me) to get any motivation to get back into that game.
BUT they did invest a lot of work, can't argue about that.

Unity was all round poor. This has superb writing and a ton of interesting content. Hard to describe but it has soul.
Rather flawed but soulful eurojank than soulless Ubi open world shit.

Well, this being a "cyber" game I just tell myself it's a "bug in the matrix" and still feel immersed
On a side note (tho I am sure many other people saw this already as it's right outside the starting apartment), got this "Budget Keanu" guy. When I reach the real one I will make some meme about it.
