I've been playing and the quests and story is fucking brilliant. If its one thing CDPR can do its make that and its Witcher 3 level if not more.

Are there any actual side missions with a story? I spent hours today and every side mission/gig was simply go to X place, clear/take/scan/exit... My street cred is 17 and haven't seen any actual side "mission".
Go to Act 2, there you start getting calls and stuff for proper long side missions. Sometimes you also need to do some story missions for them to unlock, since you meet characters via the main story that then call you for side stories. Some you get randomly on the street.
Is it normal that the dlss ultra performance mode. Looks so blurry?
What settings gives the most fps, Without seeing less quality?
i have a Rysen 3900x and a 2080 super.
Screen space reflections to low=not that much difference to ultra
Volumetric fog quality to medium
Volumetric clouds to medium
Ambient occlusion to medium.
First thing you have to investigate: in low FPS areas are you GPU or CPU bound.
If CPU bound, you have only one thing you can do: lower crowd density. For example I have a 8700k at 5GHZ, and I am CPU bound in the middle of the city areas. I think people underestimate how often they are CPU bound in this game.
If you have an RTX card and are GPU bound, then if you want to keep using RTX, then disable RTX lighting - this will give you the biggest boost, whilst keeping the much more apparent reflections and shadows.
If are GPU bound even though you are not using RTX, then lower volumetric fog, volumetric clouds and cascading shadow resolution.
anyone know a FPS counter that works? would be interesting to see what FPS i'm getting...
RTSS
Thanks!
Downloaded a 100% completed save and ran around for a bit..
It's a solid 60 FPS unless it's combat, then it can drop to 57 when fighting 4 enemies.
Everything on highest. 1080p (i have a 3840x2160 OLED TV so 1080p is perfectly usable without getting blurry). Version 1.03
specs: i5 8600K 4.4GHz / Asrock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6 / 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws V / GTX 1080 ti
Btw it's odd that people in cars react to when you point a gun to them, but not people in the street.. world does feel pretty dead in the open world i have to say.

Yep and then those people are surprised that lowering the graphic settings isn't doing much

How many FPS when CPU bound?
I have around 56 FPS while on foot and CPU bound, and around 40 while in car driving and CPU bound.
But when in a game you are CPU bound, that is a lot, and I mean A LOT more choppy gameplay than when GPU bound. Especially input. So shooting in areas, where I am GPU bound is the only time in the game, where I have beef with the performance.
And this is a 8700k at 5 GHZ, so not highest end, but high-end still.
This is the reason for weak AI, btw. There is no CPU headroom left for that.
HDR in this game is fucking sick.. you're missing out on some of the best graphics the game has to offer if you don't have the HW for it. I had it on off for a while (mistake because i changed some stuff) turned it on now and wow, it's just another game.

Actually, like everything in this game, the HDR implementation is broken and retarded.
projects red stock price down 30%, sounds like a easy buy ... 8 million preorders means 8 million dlc whores after a few patches rollout everyone will be happy consumers again

I only know what it see for myself when i turn it on or off on my setup, looks absolutely great.. it's totally possible the implementation could be even better, i don't doubt that, but it's day/night difference with/without and to HDR's advantage.
Ditch the retarded (IMO! IMO! IMO! IMO!) multiplayer plans and start getting the whole team fixing the game ASAP, especially for the derpsole versions that make the bulk of the money that was made so far in pre-hurrdurrs.
Especially since after folks who get fucked over by the shitty versions will probably not be interested in buying the MP in the first place.

I wonder if it'll be the game's saving grace in hindsight. Witcher 3 was also quite clunky, filled with superficial filler but it was carried by the story which most still remember to this day.

I was questioning their MP plans from the start. New IP, first game of theirs in first person perspective, feature creep, custom protag etc etc. It buckled under the weight.

What will happen is that they will be very excited to show us the MP portion while this is still at 1.04, and then they will be exicted to release the MP while they are excited to announce 1.05 for the game:
-added new icon for the game
-fixed typo in item stat saying: DGM instead of DMG.
(this is what happens most of the games nowdays sadly)

The saving grace will come in a year or so, with great story driven expansions and serious bug fixes. And mods.
For those wondering why your reflection doesn't appear outside of scripted events - keep an eye on your shadow in the day. Legs stop working, armor flips out, your head disappears and so on. Even just pull out your pistol and look at the way V holds it. Dumpster fire. My shotgun also clips through my shoulder. Probably has something to do with it.
people going through walls, clipping through solid obj, cops appearing out of nowhere to attack you , even in your apartment
even watch dogs 3 works better than this
idk if its the RedEngine 4 or bad coding/software but the game is beyond repair imo.
i think if dx11 would have been available a lot of the bugs and performance would have been better.
remembering RUSSIAn version goes well with the release

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
