The insta spawning police when you kill some dude in a dark alley is so fucking dumb, by far the biggest issue I had so far, just couldn't go on being so artificially limited on what I can do or cant do.
They should've poured their resources into perfecting the PC version, then ported that version across to the newer generation consoles a few months down the line. They've definitely destroyed their reputation with a large portion of their fan base judging by metacritic.
yeah. idiotic, it's so obvious the game is just way too complex for a PS4.. The two things they have achieved with this is;
1. cut downs for other versions (AI is my best guess, no way a PS4 could handle the graphics AND a more complex AI). There's a reason why the AI is simplistic and it's not because CDPR are retards or didn't have the time in 8 years. It's tuned down, like Bethseda had to do in Oblivion.
2. very disappointed fans for older console versions
2a. some disappointed fans for PC version thinking it would be a bit more complex than it is (e.g more of a living world)

So in the end that was probably what the delay was about. How to make this work on ps4 or xboner while retaining parity between all.
i believe so. it can't have been fun. same for Bethesda and Oblivion, people said they lied about the ai, actually they didn't, it was all there under the hood (obtainable and completely useable through the construction set), they had put in the time to make a complex AI, they just could not put it in the final version because it would have dragged down the performance too much (probably both on PC and consoles at the time, but esp. for consoles).

If it's the case then i think they should have just been upfront and delivered an exclusive ghetto experience for old gens. I mean, what do people expect? A lot probably, sadly enough. You see people with potato pc's complaining about optimization as a defense for their lacking hardware often enough, so we're not above the same problems.
Are there any actual side missions with a story? I spent hours today and every side mission/gig was simply go to X place, clear/take/scan/exit... My street cred is 17 and haven't seen any actual side "mission".
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Yes, they will pull off people working on pc fixes or AI to do PS4 optimization. Spoken like a true software engineer. We also pull our testers to do some interface development Your world has to be 2d right, it can't be that people are working in their fields and giving their best but then facing issues and trying to overcome them. It's always a grand scheme

Who's argued about pulling people off? They don't need to do that to e.g scale back the AI to make the performance better. No grand scheme how games or performance works.

Add no console reviews or footage prior to launch and you got one big fat scam on your hand.
This was quite despicable of them tbh..

If I recall it was something like 59% in favour of PC. Therfore, the rest are last gen consoles sales as there is no native next gen version currently.
So... after a good few hours into the main story now, I can confidently state (IMO of course) - this was a rushed release.
The main issue is the obvious placeholders that were never fleshed out into what I suspect was supposed to be. Many, many locked doors. Stores, locations that would be expected to be visitable just are not, and is just unfortunate. AI just poor in general. Driving is as basic as possible - traffic are nothing more than moving obstacles.
My biggest gripe with this game is the obvious change in game direction. The perks and skills are utterly unbalanced and totally broken. Some would make sense in a RPG style game, but here they feel like they were hastily redesigned to match the more GTA - style gameplay. I believe, about 5 years into development, something happened, and the game had to be re-designed to be a poor GTA clone instead of what we were all expecting.
The graphics are another example of this being rushed. While it is true the game looks mostly glorious on the correct hardware, it also shows so many poor textures and obvious placeholder graphics, that the focus for ther latter part of development can probably be summed up as 'make it look good for the trailers'.
Food is especially laughable - bowls of noodles or stews or whatever look pretty bad - and then knocking it over reveals nothing more than a frozen readymeal - still frozen. they fall out in one big piece, which just looks ridiculous.
I could go on, but the gist here, is I believe the original game was abandoned because either it was taking too long or - more likely - CDPR decided the market had changed towards a more action orientated, open world preference.
I like the story mind - that seems to have more or less survived. But the game - like W3 - suffers from sidequest overload, although so far they are varied enough to still be interesting. I will continue to play, as I can still find enough enjoyment out of the game to do so - but ultimately, it simply isn't finished - and I suspect it will never be. Online looks to be utterly certain and I suspect that's where a lot of the development has been focused.

I got a cyberware hack from a sidequests that is very, very OP. It makes the target fall unconcious as if he was knocked out, without making a sound. And the best part - it works on cyberpsychos as well, so instead of having a mini boss fight I just hold tab, press a button, and it's over

There are, you don't pick them up from the street tho - that's just filler, easy money/xp
I just did 2 meaningful ones:
Spoiler:
paying respects to Jackie's death, if you call his mom after she texts you. 2nd was the taxi one, where you have to bring 7 cars back to HQ, it's not just a simple fetch mission - its fun
Keep your eyes on the phone, good missions come from there.
anyone know a FPS counter that works? would be interesting to see what FPS i'm getting...
Afterburner/RivaTuner worked for me initially but then it started crashing the game on start. Used the GeForce Experience overlay after that. Add the game on Steam and start it through that for Steam's fps counter maybe?
NZXTS340ELITE : EVGA Z370 FTW / [ Intel i7 8086k @4.0Ghz ][ ASUS TUF RTX 3060 Ti 8GB ][ 16GB G.Skill Trident Z @3200mhz CL16 ][ 128GB Intel760p Series + 1TB Crucial MX500 + 3TB WD RED ][ Thermaltake Toughpower PF1 650W ]
I applied that HEX patch and my 3700x is suddenly playable at 2k on a 2080 Super will everything on except RT lighting. My CPU is crying now mind but... it a huge improvement to performance.

lol just saw some people telling ps4 players that they shouldn't be complaining because the ps4 is dated hardware and that it wasn't meant to be played on such consoles
if they really believed that, then they should be asking cdpr why they chose to market and sell a game for an unsupported console
