The first few episodes didn't really sit well with me based on my memories of the previous seasons but having pushed through to the later episodes its just getting better and better as the story comes together. Up to episode 11 now and its fucking amazing!
the only comedy show with a story/plot, after the first 5-6 eps of s04 you dont only wanna keep on watching for the lulz but also for the story progression.

surprisingly it's hard to tell which scenes are green screened. really well edited. after reading that half the cast wasn't there for the shooting, and that more than half of the episodes are green screened for actors...
Really good doubles and stand ins for talking scenes.

I just read that all the scenes where they are there together were shot at the same time over a short period. I ended up loving season 4

there are only a few scenes where you can see the cast stand next to each other and physically interact, most conversations are shot by only showing one character from the front and the other character from the back (the differing hairstyles are sometimes noticable between shots, so stand-ins were used often)
i doubt there was even need for much green screen magic.
“Netflix is determined to do more episodes, so we’re going to do more episodes,” Grazer told Adam Carolla on his daily podcast, adding that production will begin “after the first of the year” for a Season 5 premiere “four months after that.” (Listen to the full podcast here; Arrested Development comes up at the 1-hour-5-minute mark.)
Grazer told The B.S. Report in April that Season 5 would span 17 episodes. The series originally ran on Fox from 2003 to 2006, then was revived for a 15-episode run on Netflix in 2013.
Previous season was a bit strange and I didn't like the format but the humour was quite dark and the show lived up to the name by showing the entire Bluth family to be suffering from arrested development.
I fucking loved this show!
But some days ago i started season 4. How the fuck did they manage to turn the show to boring shit?
Only on episode 3 now. But god damn, those constant flashbacks and barely any funny scenes anymore. And that the episodes now last nearly 30 minutes makes me rage even more.
Still gonna watch this season though, as i am interested in the story.
Bye.

Season 4 is brilliant if you think about it. It's the first season in the show to truly show how all members of the family actually suffer from "Arrested Development". Not only that, it also shows that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree with Michael being no better than his family when seen away from them.
Watching it in any order was also pretty cool. Unfortunately, streaming is the worst place for it since comedy shows suffer when binge watched.

I always watch comedy series a few episodes at a time for that very reason with one exception. I watched The Good Place series 1 in one afternoon because it was so story based and had cliffhangers at the end of each episode + it wasn't really a typical sitcom so I didn't quite mind binge watching it.
Too bad the last season was shite compared to the first ones.
It just gets flak for being made in a non linear fashion and the family members not being together for most of the show. Season 4 has some wickedly dark and layered humour.
