Around 3k before tax. Cheaper than the stores, obviously.

Yeah, not bad.

My 1070 seems to be dying mens Sad
Already reported artifacts that were only happening via windows 7, while on the same game in win 10 there were no issues. Well now most of the games seem to run flawlessly and without zero artifacts (Doom 2016, BL3, Enderal, FO: NV, AC Origins) while a few others have horrible artifacts (AC Unity, AC Syndicate, AC Odyssey). Temperatures are normal, even hitting it hard with BL3 it doesn't go higher than 73c on afterburner, and I've already tried:
- underclocking memory and core (it was running @ stock)
- underclocking memory and core and adding a bit more voltage (5% on the reference)
- installing older drivers (2019)
- running the affected games on lowest settings, lower resolutions, lower refresh rates
- having a fixed 80% fan speed
- switched the card to another PCIe slot
- swapped the PSU aux cable
- tried it via display port instead of hdmi

Any ideas? Guess I talked too much shit about ubishit since now most of their games are all fucked up on my GPU Laughing

I'd buy a 3080/6800 or 6900 if it were an option, the ripoff 3090 is the only card available in my region and even though I can afford it I would feel like a fucking idiot if i bought one.

Laughing Crying or Very sad

I'm nowhere near a specialist but I'd say it seems to be some issue with the cards memory (or part of it). Would explain why it works with some games and not with others, and also why even after underclocking it 200MHz core and 1000MHz memory the issues are still there on the games that run poorly.

If its memory, maybe try gpu ram drive and see what happens.
Maybe the ram drive ends up corrupted or artifacts disappear when the memory is otherwise allocated. No idea Razz

What a clusterfuck, 6800XT has zero stock as well Laughing I called a couple of stores, "don't expect anything earlier than couple of months into 2021".
I'm not going in some pre-order queue, I'm not paying idiot prices and I'm not desperate enough to get a RTX 3090. Be strong my trusty 1080, we're going to play Cyberpunk together soon Everything Went Better Than Expected

Why people are so rushed to get new cards? Definitely worth to wait few months for more stocks and with that possible price drop.

I'm not worried at all about the fact that I'm going to start playing Cyberpunk with my modest 1660S, I will play through it so slowly (I'm too busy nowadays and can't binge play games like in the past) that I will probably still play the most of it with my new Ampere in 2021 Very Happy

You can guess I wouldn't mind another delay for the release Cool Face

Same as with Witcher 3, I started with a 290X and finished the game with a Vega 64 on double the framerate. I guess this will be similar.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

It's basic supply and demand business, The more available the cards is, the more stable the price be.

They love their Christmas gifts. They're programmed to buy everything around this time of the year no rationality behind it they'll even willingly get gaped by scalpers to be an early adopter of yet to be refined technology.

3080 TUF OC was 750€ when I got it at release. It's 899€ now so that price drop is still quite far into the distant future. Very Happy

I doubt the dust will settle anytime soon. The queues are still crazy, even if you'd account for people ordering from multiple places at the same time. Unless you get lucky and find some random stock, just forget and move on. It's been years since I've bought a GPU new, so I've never seen anything like this. It's a complete clusterfuck Surprised

I landed an EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 right at launch, and in my country they sell for around 15-20% more now. 3080 Ventus is selling for higher price I bought mine at.
