As far as I know there weren't gamebreaking bugs in Unity(on PC at least) , only graphical glitches. I even mentioned the infamous missing face in my post, what are you on about? Obviously Unity was buggy, but I was one of the lucky few who didn't encounter any that I remember.

Dude. I really like this game, but it might be one of the buggiest releases I played.
Especially the boss fight in SPOILER FOR THE SEER MISSION

Is terribly bugged. Missing music, sounds, the boss disappearing under the ground and never appearing again etc. There is a fix that helped me - you have to set all details to low and then the fight progresses. I played that boss fight like 4 times, getting stuck in the same final part of the boss fight.
Add to that broken quest triggers (especially the side quests) - at least 6 that I counted. Fortunately a quick save/quick load combo fixes it, but still. |

Those are bugs alright, but that's not gamebreaking. Annoying, sure, but as you've said, there are easy workarounds.

The boss bug literally blocks progression. Those are just the ones I encountered. Others were not so lucky - there are tons of bug reports on reddit. One that immediately comes to mind is people being unable to start the Sons of Ragnar quest (first few hours of the game) if they did the other area first.

There's also issues when doing raids where I try to open a chest and my dumb ass crew just stand there outside the wide open door that they helped me force open, just staring at me.
And tons of areas where you get stuck because it puts you in a slide animation and now you're stuck because you can't get out of this pothole.
Or that quest where you have to drop people on a spot and it just says you must be anonymous to do this even if you're anonymous.
All resolved with a reload but still annoying as fuck.
But anyway I've given up. Odyssey I had no problem getting through, but this game is just too tedious. Most of those alliance stuff should have been cut and instead have it added to the main story because next time you run into Sigurd and Basim there's this strange disjoint with how unfriendly Eivor is towards them.
Like when Basim left, there was no beef or anything so it's weird to have that sudden change. People said doing the dream sequences would explain it and while I get that, Eivor doesn't comment about it in game.
I've now lowered difficulty to the lowest and I just run straight to the objective while avoiding the pointless fights, especially in those storm the keep sequences, just so I can finish this thing.
But what's become annoying is how they're artificially increasing play time by having this quests that has you running across the map but with no nearby fast travel point.
Oh and also those 'bad ass' kill animations. I wish those were locked behind a stun attack and wouldn't trigger when you kill someone with a light attack. It's a waste of time.

Still in the "tutorial" phase.....
Already liking this more than Odyssey just because it's vikings and not egyptian bullshit.
The game runs great unless you have all options on high and complain, to which you are a moron.
Combat feels great, and the fact that stealth isn't necessary at all is nice too.

Even Origins is hardly "Egyptian" and more Roman and Greek. The only exception being the Landscape and even there you have a lot of regions looking more like Greece than Egypt
Remember, Cleopatra was closer to us than to the Old Kingdom
Anyway, I am now 40 some hours in and I am still enjoying it. Just did the Vinland bit, or the first part of it, dunno if there is more later on... and I reskilled for it. I was all red skills before and now I am full-on blue and yellow with a bit red and damn, I am so much more effective.
Somehow Red, i.e. Heavy Melee focused, excels less at melee than the stealth focused tree...
Or maybe it's just my approach to fighting that favours it, dunno.
And for the complaining about armors and weapons, well, there are a ton of weapon, but obviously not like in the previous 2 games, BUT instead, you get a ton of abilities to pick and choose from, which replace what was previously some kind of "weapon traits". And let's face it, the weapons in the previous 2 games were almost all vendor trash. You only ever used the legendary weapons and items and the rest was just inventory filler material.
Here, they reduced it to have all the different arch types of weapons and then give you the choice to mix and match abilities and skills to accommodate your individual playstyle.
I find that a lot more satisfying, than having to build your character around the "weapon of the moment", until you find a "better one" a couple of levels later.
I also remember, how people complained, how they turned the previous games into looter games and now that they turned away from that, people still complain
Wonder if it's the same people...

yup, The great pyramid is 2500 years old in Origins, Egypt is mythical already.
I think i will enjoy this since i liked Origins.. still have Odyssey to play so maybe it'll wear me out, or maybe i should play this first in case it's better.

Honestly, this is a strong GOTY contender IMHO.
Great story/stories, IMHO the best in AC history.
People who think raiding is too much or there is too much of it, I wonder what game they are playing, it's such a small part of the game lol.
going 60 hours and I am only power 200ish ^^.
At the highest difficulty still.
