Yeah, any sense of progressions goes away after a while, the stakes aren't higher either, you just doing different zones with no real outcome. Curious though to see what happens after. Atm it just seems like I'm searching for allies with no real war going on and no final enemy to battle against.

Can they do less is more though? People expect a certain amount of content from their games, no matter how repetitive it gets after a while, it's too late to change the formula now.

HZD (played it on PS4 pro) was a good open world game, imho. Wasn't dense, but at least what was in it, was pretty good.
The reason Valhalla sucks imho is the combat. It's just ... so easy, and so samey.
With HZD on higher difficulties (and controller) you had to employ tactics to win fights, especially with groups of enemies, especially with a multitude of different types of enemies, each with their exploitables. Combat in HZD was fun. So the gameplay loop was fun.

I think they shouldn't have split up gear as their own find this thing around the map. Should have just made it as part of the regional quest. Like every region has gear as a reward for completing a mission so by the time you finish the arc you get an entire set.
And make it known what set you're getting in that pledge region map.
I'm just going through the main story as well but yeah it gets pretty boring same as previous games, but it's a decent time waster for November.

lol. this game has a lot of issues but graphical fidelity isn't one of them. was that the best they could find

I have bad news for you guys... You will hate me for it.
But gameplay is smoother at 60 FPS on PS5 (upscaled 4K) than on PC with 3080 @ 2ghz 3440*1440 at 80 FPS. PC feels choppy, PS5 butter-smooth.
PC ultra does look better though (more detail), but not by much.
Fuck Ubisoft. Srsly.

Just get Uplay+ imo, enough to finish the game and maybe even get a 2nd or 3rd to play at 15 bucks.
