Yep a shame they doesn't allow DCS Store -> Steam anymore.
I only bought their product from their store since then.

But you can still activate your owned steam modules on a DCS Store account for free :

https://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/0/1744482869760438699/

That's the only way to benefit from preorder discount/bonuses and beta build

or

Wait for age for a Steam sales Very Happy

April 17th, 2020

Dear fighter pilots, partners and friends,

The global spread of COVID-19 is affecting every single one of us. We are a people-first company, and we believe that technology can change lives and give hope. To study the virus, protect the vulnerable and beat this thing requires that we all play a part. We want to update you about what we’re doing.
Last month we gave the opportunity for all to try and test our products for a two day period at a time. This was well received and a total of over 200 thousand modules and trials were downloaded during this free event.
In view of last months response, we are pleased to announce our upcoming Free For All event, starting April 19th, where you are welcome to try any and all our products (except campaigns) for free and without limitation for one month. This unlimited access to all our suite of products, including our top fighter jets, such as the F-16C, F/A-18C and A-10C Warthog will help take your mind off things for a while, giving you the opportunity to try something new, and to own it for 50% or less than the normal price.*
We know that this is a small contribution to your personal lives but we hope that you will take full advantage of the offer and help the time fly by. In addition to this, we will be donating 10% of our net turnover generated during the event to Children First, a foundation that we have become very involved with for the past few years. This organisation supports the work of an amazing Dr Stefano Scaringella, a Capucin Priest and surgeon who has dedicated the past 40 years of his life to saving children and to promoting health in Madagascar, one of the poorest nations in the world. Please check this out, they too are hit badly and need all the help in the world: www.childrenfirst.fund
Thank you for your passion and support and stay safe.

Yours sincerely,

The Eagle Dynamics Team

On Steam
Fly the F/A-18C Hornet, F-16C Viper, A-10C Warthog, F-5E Tiger II, Persian Gulf Map and all DCS World War II products for free during a two-week period from April 19th to May 3rd.
Between the 13th and 27th of May, a 50% discount on all DCS products will be available.
*Exclusions and comments:
All campaigns, F-14B and AJS-37 Viggen will not take part. JF-17 Thunder will have a 15.00 USD discount.

Smile

Don't throw stones at me, but is this remotely playable with a gamepad (or mouse)+keyboard combo ? Or is a joystick mandatory to enjoy it ? Razz

Laughing Unfortunately, no, and I was planning on using the keyboard for all the buttons !
I'm a complete noob at this, I have to admit, it's been more than a decade since I've played any flight simulation.
Feels like playing this with a mouse/gamepad + keyboard would be like driving a Ferrari in sandals Very Happy Not sure I have the time nor brainpower to invest into learning all of this, no matter how tempting it seems to be Razz

.. and the cost of these DLCs, even if they're a small company and that the level of fidelity is super high.. holy shit, +2000€ for all of them.
It's obviously crafted for enthusiasts, and not the poorest ones either Very Happy

PS: I'm not criticizing in the least, I'm glad there is a definitive combat flight simulator out there.

Haha Very Happy
No homoerotic beach volley scenario though Sad

All joking aside, the fidelity and sheer complexity of the whole simulative sandbox truly is most impressive. Unfortunately my rig from the Mikoyan-Gurevich era isn't capable of running the game without choking on itself so Fitgirl's huge repack will have to wait till next year (maybe!)

Someone somewhere else said this fitgirl repack probably has a cryptominer because his CPU was going to 100% during installation but lowered down to 5% with a turned off internet. Anyone knows anything about this? I read long ago about some repacker (don't think it was fitgirl) saying he will include a cryptominer in his repacks as "a small donation" to him. I don't have that much HDD space to try it.

I know fitgirl only wants mining as donation, but this (if its true) is news to me. Have to check it out next time I install a fitgirl repack.

I know there can be a lot of shit in those repacks, thats why I only go for Fitgirl and DODI, even tho im a bit skeptical

This week we are excited to share our progress on DCS World Dynamic Campaign Engine. This is quite a big step for us and despite the slow progress, we are optimistic that it will be a great enhancement to DCS. We cannot give you a firm initial OB release date yet as things are still quite raw, but we will keep you updated regularly as the next milestones come to pass.

Our third-party partners TrueGrit Virtual Technologies are working hard on the DCS: Eurofighter Typhoon. Please check out some of the cool stuff they are up to below.

We would like to thank our internal and external Beta-Testers Teams for the relentless testing and reporting in the lead up to the upcoming OB in mid August. We are optimistic about the rate of bug squashing and trust that performance will also improve in the coming releases.

after years of deflection and stalling they are finally doing it? will be interesting to see how half-ass it is.. these days i'm actually pretty happy just playing the liberation 2.0 mod for a dynamic campaign. that is until they updated the DRM on dcs and locked me outta free planes!

good to hear its happening though, DCS has always been a really boring game thanks to the lack of dynamic encounters. hopefully they can add some realistic AI to SAM launchers and ground forces, so it's not just a target gallery but an intelligent/moving theatre. one thing mods can't do is add unit virtualization (non-simulated combatants) to save on processor so with a bit of luck they have added some form of that so the game remains playable.

Nice find! Wasn't aware that DCS world has been cracked, although it has been half a year since the said release. Apparently there is a topic on the rin with more details.

The fucked up irony of having to fill Russian pockets to fly a US chopper in a flight sim, Laughing

Looks great - just need a HOTAS, rudder petals, track IR, and a bigger desk to mount it all to. So $1,200 in upgrades needed to play are a bit too rich for my blood, at least at the moment. Crying or Very sad

get a VR headset instead of TIR, it's awesome for helicopters even with the shitty FPS.
for pedals, get a bad racing pair (symmetrical ones Laughing) normally these are garbage usb wheels designed for children, but these work great for helicopters and planes at a 20th of the cost (if you can find one, or get a used one).
i use a prehistoric MS sidewinder 2 as my stick, it sucks not having a hotas for maximum buttons, but having force feedback is awesome Razz

if there was something expensive i could recommend, it would be a throttle (or an actual collective) with a bunch of buttons on it.

still waiting for the dynamic campaign Sad

are there any decently priced hotas with force feedback?

sold off my hotas warthog some years ago, awesome feel on that one.. supposedly they're not that great when it comes to the build quality.
