Hint:

Sick of the little warnings about epilepsy, save games and ryzen?

go into your game's installation folder, by default:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Assassin's Creed Valhalla\videos

and rename (simply putting an x at the beginning of filename suffices) the following files:

ANVIL_Logo.webm
PC_AMD_Ryzen.webm
UbisoftLogo.webm

and inside your languages folder, for example, "en" for English, do the same thing with all 3 files there.

Voila, no more intro videos.

Can't even play now because they fucked up Ubisoft+ somehow, a lot of angry people on reddit and on their forums about double or even triple charges and the subscription still getting canceled. Laughing

That's what happened to me, they double charged me for the Ubisoft+ subscription. I had to talk to a support agent for a week while sending proof of the transaction for them to finally agree to refund me. I was sending photos and bank statements and he was still trying to tell me that I wasn't double charged Laughing

I bought 1-month subscription today, was instantly activated and the game was downloaded and installed 5 minutes later and starts without issues.

It's not instant, consider yourself in the clear only if after 24hrs you don't get the payment failed email. At which point there's fuck all you can do, the support team is completely worthless.

I'm not overly worried (some people really lost their shit, which is just funny), most likely once they get it sorted you just get additional days added to the end of your sub - this has happened before too iirc. Would've liked to play the game today though.

Yeah it works perfectly at first, which was my point to begin with - I also played for several hours last night with no issues. Whatever payment processor Ubisoft is using is complete garbage.

Got this on Ubisoft+ as well and haven't had a single issue including with performance. The game is far more focused and less FOMO based than AC:O, even if, yes, Kassandra is a better protag than either Eivor (in terms of performance at least).

If a multi-billion company couldn't anticipate the volume and prepare accordingly, then yeah I reserve the right to call it garbage. Fortunately I always got other games to play and am fine waiting it out, but someone fucked up for sure. Very Happy

That it's a dead open world was a given. But have it improved on anything from odyssey and origins? Odyssey already felt like a step down from Origins though.

I don't like the combat system in Valhalla and also the map (England) seems to be a step down from Odyssey.

I really enjoyed exploring the world in Odyssey but here everything looks the same, like they used some random map generator or something.

I'm in the middle of an Elex playthrough. And I stopped and gave this a whirl.

Valhalla is better than previous AC games. The problem though is the zero challenge the open world games have. Level scaling means combat never actually evolves. I play on hardest difficulty and the timing windows are huge. You have so much room for error.

I kid you not, but Elex simply blows away these cookie-cutter RPGs. Both Ubi and Beth open world games just pose no challenge. In Elex, when I get a new weapon (3-4 hours between upgrades or more) I actually fucking feel the upgrade. You need to plan for and wait for each upgrade, but it's not incremental, it's always a boost that opens up new places you can take on.

It's just so silly how easy they make these mass marketed games.
