Apparently it's not source code at all. Just engine and maintenance tools plus all unpacked assets.

Ehhh most modern game engines have that type of scripting. If you were to code that shit by hand, it would take another 10 years.

My specs:
Ryzen 5950x @ boosting 5ghz, Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master, 128gb G.Skill Trident Neo pc3600 ram, nVidia RTX 5080, SoundBlasterX G6, Samsung 980 Pro m.2 1TB and Hynix m.2 1TB storage SSD. Custom watercooling loop.

Derpsole: Nintendo Switch, Derpstation 5 Pro

I used something similar in Unity, it was more efficient and the compiled code was identical to writing it out. It doesn't mean the entire game was coded this way either.

Perhaps you can explain the issue here

PPG’s pokeprotos (who’s been following the exploits of ransomware team Egregor over the past two weeks) has shared an image that suggests Watch Dogs: Legion was scripted using a program synonymous to Scratch – a block-based, drag-and-drop editor that is primarily designed to teach kids how to code.

“Scratch is designed especially for ages 8 to 16, but is used by people of all ages,” a blurb on the official site reads. “Millions of people are creating Scratch projects in a wide variety of settings, including homes, schools, museums, libraries, and community centers.”

well the game looks like an ass and runs like shit, wonder if there is any correlation to these elite dev tools. I wish they would stop using it for benchmarks as well, i guess its an indication to how the new cards perform with poorly optimized titles.

That's how devs work on unreal engine

you write code here and there and do the rest with drag and drop

What will happen when kiddies discover that's how most of graphical stuff is "written", like shaders in their favorite games? Laughing

And they are gonna discover it via Watch Dogs?

It's not that new of a thing either. Think the first time I saw it was in the MMO genre (not saying it started there).

I think first time I saw something like this was in the LOTR making of, when they demonstrated the Massive software Very Happy That was developed already in the late 1990's.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

This is how most (complex) games are developed. It's just more easy to manage and prevents lots of potential coding mistakes.

Unacceptable. Every game dev worth his salt should be an infallible code wizard like Carmack and produce golden code of the gods even in his sleep.

Ahahahaha

I read a review that was discussing how the "podcast" focus of this game will get old real fast if some of the hosts get cancelled on Twatter.

How limb aware are they though? Did someone count the number of limb different people in the game and are there any main characters with limb differences?

Do they even know that's the new thing to be upset about on Twitter?

LGBTTQQIAAP is so early 2019 at this point, it's not exactly very polite to be upset about gender when there might be limb different people who feels alone, insecure, left out and not even represented in a favorable way in all present games.
