just wait a few months, or however long until it reaches the price you're happy to pay. i haven't paid full price for a game for years. plus I can get PSN credit at 25% off through certain places so it's not like the games would cost me rrp even if I did feel I HAD to have one on release day

I'm getting digital edition - I haven't used a disc for games (or anything else) for years, so it was a nice surprise when Sony announced it. I get cheap PSN credit and nearly always buy in steep sales. Not bothered about not being to sell them on tbh - the convenience of not fucking about swapping discs more than makes up for that for me. Plus, this generation is the first one that I've ever had to pay for any game, so it's been a good run
And with the speed that games can be swapped between/resumed/loaded on the new consoles UI, that disc swapping will be even more out of place.
Really looking forward to my PS5 - just glad that I've got my pre-order via Amazon and not a shop, as here in the UK it looks like we're going into a month long lockdown next week.
Same here, got the DE, only bought 2 discs games for PS4, it's not worth it in here with prices are high for games, and ordering from Amazon will add delivery cost, and i don't want couple of weeks waiting for games to arrive.
Will wait for sales, was getting nice prices over PSN, like Days Gone for $20.
My hype level is so high i stopped playing and sold all my consoles.

You'll save the difference between a digital and a regular ps5 eventually if you keep buying retail games instead of the scalpers at SE.
Checked retail prices for this (72 Euro in Norway). I most certainly won't buy a PS5 in a hurry. I'll take my sweeeet ass time. Let's pray everyone at SE officec stumbles their toes 10 times a day until they rediscover some of their humanity, along with the players of Demon souls.
Sure, especially if you live in the US... Amazon and others like will sell for cheaper and deliver in same day? Also there was some always discounts on new games in some retailer, i think it was Best Buy.
Don't know about europe but sure in US this sounds pretty great, i read you can even trade your old console in GameStop, all sound real good, not to talk about prices like the PS5 DE is 400 bucks! I paid 580! So yeah i wish i could have this here.
Anyways for me US PSN prices are better then getting disc version so no brainer, also as mentioned above digital are more convenient and it's not about the price difference between the disc PS5 and the DE. But if i was located in US then not doubt the disc version is good choice.
Also the DE looks much nicer.

As much as I am a 4K whore, I really like it that PS5 kinda forces dev to have a performance vs 4K mode.
The console OS itself has an option in the settings so you can choose what you like best so games will default to performance mode vs 4K... Means that surely if it's officially a menu in the console, dev will be more & more forced to add this welcomed feature.

Me too! both XSX and PS5 seems to get performance option in most games, i really hope that keeps happening and will become a standard.
