Played a bit. Driving is nice but the movement is garbage console jank. The graphics are not so impressive as well overall but nighttime looks great. Overall don't know if I'll finish it, don't feel too invested right now.

Custom HUD Options
Use these new options to customize the in-game HUD if, for example, you want to make your explorations of Lost Heaven feel less guided or take a particularly pleasing screenshot:
- Switch the in-world main objective marker on/off.
- Switch mini-map enemy markers on/off on all difficulty settings. (Previously enemy markers were always on outside of Classic Mode.)
- Switch navigation features like turn-by-turn instructions and the mini-map GPS on/off.
- Enable the new Minimal HUD mode to hide HUD elements including the mini-map, the speedometer, and objective text while playing.
Noir Mode
Enable Noir Mode to enjoy Mafia: Definitive Edition's gameplay and cinematics with a vintage black-and-white look. Noir Mode can be toggled on and off via the game options screen.
Free Ride Content
Now that you're off to the races and enjoying Free Ride mode, depending on which vehicle you're driving and where you're driving it, you might find one of a couple new gameplay features that we've added to the mode. We'll leave the specifics for you to discover and hope you fare well in Lost Heaven.
Fixes:
Mafia: Definitive Edition fixes in this update include but are not limited to the following:
Addressed a reported issue that sometimes prevented the correct vehicles from unlocking in the player garage upon completion of the optional Lucas Bertone missions.
Players who have completed these missions should find the correct vehicles in their garage the next time they start the game.
Addressed a reported concern that a special assassination animation sometimes wasn't triggering correctly during the mission "The Saint and The Sinner."
Addressed a reported concern that certain cinematics would occasionally show a black screen.
Seems like minor issues fixed with some new features added. It's unusual for a first update to include new features and more content so good on Hangar 13 for that.
Speaking which, I wonder which setting Mafia IV (unless Take2 decides to not go forward with it even though this trilogy remake+remasters are clearly marketing tools to get everyone, esp. gamers who weren't around or only used PS2/XBox when the first (and perhaps the second) game was released.
They've done Chicago (Mafia, Lost Haven, 1930'ies), New York (Mafia 2, Empire Bay, 1950'ies) and New Orleans (Mafia 3, New Bordeaux, 1960'ies).
They could either go Vegas (year could be set between 1940'ies and 1980'ies since that's the span when both the Mafia and Vegas had their explosive boom) or perhaps Dallas?....

An Egyptian lounge turned Italian restaurant, Campisi's will forever live in infamy. Conspiracy theorists who believe the mob was part of the John F. Kennedy assassination point to the fact that Jack Ruby—the man who shot Lee Harvey Oswald after Oswald was taken into custody for murdering the president—ate here the night before and the restaurant's alleged connection with mobster Carlos Marcello.
Then there's Boston and Providence, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Milwaukee, all "famous" for having strong Mafia presence and history.
I wonder what state Hangar 13 is in, ie. if they lack the proper skilled developers/artists/project managers or if Take2 took the piss and put ridiculous deadlines and offered a low budget to get it done (most likely both)?...
Ugh. I haven't downloaded it yet (I'm pretty apprehensive about trying it). I have the original GOG version sitting on my drive and I've seen that there are fairly modern mods for graphics overhaul and reshade stuff to make it look better. Not sure how good the graphics overhaul mods are seeing as the engine is from 2002 and is seriously limited compared to engines from 2005 and forward. However, for an 18 year old game it doesn't look all that bad except for low-poly characters and low res textures. I haven't played it for ~7-8 years so I may go that route instead. I remember when I played Mafia 2 which I thought was absolutely beautiful but with a somewhat empty game world that I was thinking "If they could lift Mafia 1 to the Mafia 2 engine, retaining everything but update it with the poly-count, texture resolution and lighting from Mafia 2 I'd be a happy man".
I've got the Mafia 2 and 3 on Steam but haven't bothered checking the free remastered editions out since they don't seem worthwhile in any way.

The Mafia 3 Definitive Edition is just the main game bundled with all Story DLC and Bonus Packs in one place.
While the Mafia 2 Definitive Edition is an “ultra HD remaster” of the 2010 masterpiece, with new textures, lighting and effects, and includes all DLC content.
So were Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light and they had some fairly nice improvements.
2033 Redux sucked compared to the original. The flickering shit and some game-breaking bugs are left unpatched to this day. I expect the same for Mafia 2: DE.
Finished the game on NORMAL within the "No wasted ammo" difficulty for the 1st time, but 2nd if we count the original.
Glad to hear the same spanish VA re-dub the entire character for Tommy (I thought for a moment that it was re-used audio!).
The worst was the driving but eh, old times...
The ending is the same but much better, YET misses a few scenes and lines comparing it to the original
Spoiler:
Like when you see Salieri and company get to prison, etc
Sadly i don't know how much time i've spent with it. However i made use of the quick travel function every fucking time to save me some seconds/minutes
