Hi guys,

I got the LIGHTFORCE rls of GTA that works with the MPH loader, but i got a question.
Everytime when i load the ISO using UMD EMULATOR .08c and i return to the system menu i get the error CANT READ THIS DISK.
I Ignore the message pop out the UMD and i start MPHLOADER but after (around) 10mins i get kicked out of the game with the same error.
Does anyone know if the LIGHTFORCE contains the 10min playtime or does anyone knows what the problem is

I had that to with the LiGHTFORCE version. Just use the ARTiSAN release. That work just fine. Btw save those flash 0 and flash1 folders of the LiGHTFORCE release

i get that error too. I used the ARTiSAN release.

oke first you extract the iso. Then, place PRX2_0_0 folder in the root of your memory stick.

Then you have to put this folders ( DECRYPTPRX and DECRYPTPRX%) to your memstick. In J:\PSP\GAME. Then start your psp and run that decrypter and do what it saids. It was something with remove your battery. The program created some files in the PRX2_0_0 folder with dcr extensions. Then delete all the prx files. and then remove of the new dcr files the .dcr. Then copy back the PRX2_0_0 folder to your extracted iso. And recreate the iso with a program like UMDgen. Put the new ISO in your ISO folder on the memstick.

And now you have some put some folders like this.
Memory stick
|
|- mphgameloader
|
|- mphloader.prx
|
|- flash0/ (with sub folders and files)
|- flash1/ (with sub folders and files)
|
|- PSP/
|
|- GAME/
|
|- MPHGAMELOADER
|- MPHGAMELOADER%

replace that mphloader.prx with the patched one.

now you are done.

start umd emu in system menu. And choose your new gta iso. Launch then MPHGAMELOADER

I've patched it up, Seems our scene friends at Lightforce forgot to add UMD_DATA.BIN (Euro Ver)

So i've patched this up for them Smile

If anyone is having problem's with GTA's 'Read disc error' I've patched it up and its working great, I will tell you how to fix it :

Make a text file called 'UMD_DATA.txt' , Now put this in the text file

Code:
ULES-00151|185FFF7A7FECB8E2|0001|G             |

Save and rename it UMD_DATA.BIN , Now open the Lfc ISO and add the UMD_DATA.BIN to UMDGen.
Save the ISO and its now fully patched , no more read disc error's Smile

Thanks to beeno for helping out.

never noticed how many ppl had a PSP on this forum untill this got released Smile
here's a pretty decent tutorial:
Code:

CONFIRMED WORKING - INSTRUCTIONS BY VAPOCHILL

WHAT YOU NEED

UMDGEN V2.00
FAKEUPDATER
FIRMWARE 2.00 EBOOT (google)
MPHGAMELOADER
UMDEMULATOR V0.8C
GTA ISO (your own)

UMDGEN

OPEN GTA ISO
EXTRACT TO GTA ISO TO FOLDER ON HD
SAVE A FILE LIST
CLOSE UMDGEN

DECRYPTPRX

COPY PRX2_0_0 FROM GTA FOLDER ON HD ONTO THE ROOT OF MEMSTICK
PUT DECRYPTPRX INTO GAME FOLDER
RUN DECRYPTPRX
COPY PRX2_0_0 FOLDER FROM ROOT OF MEMCARD INTO GTA FOLDER ON HD REPLACING ORIGINAL FOLDER
REMOVE ALL .PRX FILES AND THEN REMOVE .DCR EXTENSIONS FROM REMAINING FILES.

UMDGEN

DUMP GTA FILES BACK INTO UMDGEN
OPEN THE SAVED FILE LIST
CREATE A NEW GTA ISO
DUMP GTA.ISO INTO ISO FOLDER ON MEMCARD

FAKEUPDATER

PUT FAKEUPDATER ONTO MEMSTICK
PUT 2.00 FIMWARE INTO FAKEUPDATER/UPDATE FOLDER
RUN FAKEUPDATER

YES TO FAKE UPDATE TO 2.00
YES TO REMOVE FROM MEMORY
YES TO DO YOU WANT DECRYPTED FILES
NOW DUMPS F0 TO MEMORY CARD IN UNENCRYPTED FORMAT
YES TO DUMP F1 TO MEMORY CARD
COPY F0 AND F1 FROM MEMORY CARD ROOT TO MPHGAMELOADER FOLER THEN RENAME THE FOLDERS TO flash0 and flash1

UMDEMULATOR

RUN UMDEMULATOR
SET SYSTEM MENU
SELECT GTA.ISO
RUN MPHGAMELOADER.....

WORKING JUST FINE )

I'm kind of getting how this all works now and have a bit of an information overload will try that out tonight once i downgraded my PSP from 2.0 to 1.5 (yes i did buy gta a couple of months ago )
Anywone know if there's wifi support?

Bleh, why do you have to do the fake updater crap, I thought it was just

-> Decrypt iso files
-> recreate iso
-> slap the right files in the right places
-> run loader

:\

You dont need to do the fake updater stuff, but you do need the flash1 flash0 stuff which you get from the fake updater thing I belive. However the copy of GTA I grabbed (LIGHTFORCE) came with those folders, so all is fine Smile!

So finally tried to figure this out, and it didn't work at all, haha.

Using Artisan release, I extracted the .iso with umdgen, then put PRX folder in mem stick and ran decrypter, it said OK a bunch of times, then I copied the PRX folder over the old one, and the next step says to delete all files with .prx extension and rename the left over ones... problem is I only have prx files in the entire PRX folder, lol.

What's up with that?

you will have those other files but they will already have the .prx extention so it will be whatever.prx.dcr trust me that the same exact mistake i made! Windows wont see the .dcr extention so use command prompt to rename them or "show known file types" in windows will get you seeing the right extention Wink

Hmm... I'll look again, thanks... but I haven't hidden file extensions in quite some time. Smile I'll try command line.

Just looked again, the files are all still .PRX, none of the other extensions.. Sad

the decrypter keeps saying OK a bunch of times when I run it on the files, then tells me to hit Home to go back.

what decrypter are you using?
if you're using aena's (i think that's the name, or it looks like that in any case) it's normal you only get PRX files after the decrypt. only decryptPRX creates those dcr files.

If it's aena's (the one i used and that worked) you have a file named "dec" in the root of you memory stick which contain the decrypted prx files you need. just copy em over, no need for renaming.

hope this helps.

I used decrypter 1.02, I will try 1.01 soon and then I will try aena's.

Thanks for info. Hope I can get this right someday. Wink

Some releases comes with bad Flash0 and Flash1(firmware dump).

Also - do a "Restore to factory defaults", just to be on the safe side.

!!So good to see 1.50 back on track!!

if you use a dump of firmware 2.5 instead of 2.0. wouldn't that allow to play more recent games like Exit or King Kong and stuff like that?
