all this hype and yet something tells me nobody here will have their hands on a new card untill maybe xmass, go bitcoin go
that would be so funny if bitcoiners eat all the cards and then amd can just come in and supply a deprived market
Honestly my friend:
I will sit and wait and DO NOTHING. LITERALLY NOTHING.
All my games that I play I can play at 1440p at ULTRA/MAX settings with 100-144Hz / fps no problem.
There ARE NO CRYSIS type games on the market.
The ARE NO SUPER INTENSE graphics in games anymore.
Sure, you can turn on RTX but really that's like saying you can turn on FURMARK while you play your game.
You can always make it "slower", sure, but not by "substancially" making the graphics better. RTX adds shadows which don't make the game look significantly better.
Crysis looked SIGNIFICANTLY better than Half Life 2. That's the reason why it was so slow at the time. Poly-count, textures, world-size, everything was bumped up hugely.
DooM 2016 runs >120 fps E-A-S-I-L-Y on any potato PC at 1080p, which most people have.
We don't have ANY games where current hardware could not deliver a "playable" experience of <60 fps or even <30 fps to compare it to prev-gen consoles (PS3, etc).
Name any current game that any current gen card cannot run smoothly. You cannot do it. There are no examples.
So I will wait for RDNA2 reveal, ZEN3 reveal, as well as for independent benchmarks of 30xx cards.
No worries. Nextgen consoles soon here. Might take a while for 3rd party games to reach the level of ps exclusives but when they do rtx2080 will be minimum req.

I'd do the same in your situation. I just gotta have a proper card for cyberpunk!
At least my new 850w psu arrived, so im ready

What nextgen console games are peoples hanging out for, also what was good the last two generations. Or is it now where console is powerful enough to actually get good games?

Depends how much microsofts shittiest model will mean for console gaming as a whole i guess. I want to kick them square in the face for it.

It means everything will be done properly now, a.k.a with highest quality available, then it gets scaled down to shit hardware (like the derp S model), not the other way around like previously, this is why we got shit ports aswell.

PS5 only. Xbox is garbage. Plus you can play all xbox games on PC.

Sony Said that they will evaluate bringing more games to PC. They basically told their shareholders that they will do whatever generates the most profit. The didn't promise gamers anything.
65°C Is pretty good. We'll see the dB that go with it.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Looks like huge area is relying to passive cooling, not good thing in all cases.
You mean the upper and lower part of the X shaped middel? Yes that seems really badly cooled. I'm not sure what the 65°C measure is supposed to represent? The hottest part of the card or just the part in the cross? Because the upper part looks way hotter.
Secondly, is that card blowing all the heat in the direction of the CPU? Because it certainly seems like the CPU cooler is heating up too. Not sure what they are testing there. Maybe the CPU is taxed too.
edit:
apparently its from the Guru3D review, some RTX benchmark.

Yes the airflow design on this card will make CPU run hotter, but that is not really the problem here, since its so minimal afterall if you have good cooler, but RAM is gonna get toasty, it basically dumps all hot air straight to them (Samsung B-die memory with all slots occupied is couple degrees off from instability already)... The middle part of the card seems to be very hot near the PCB, everything is packed so tightly this time, memory is probably running pretty hot on the card aswell...
Can we expect partner board reviews when the embargo lifts or is that just for the founders edition? The lack of info is annoying considering the tight turnaround for ordering thereafter.
Take a first look at the design of the new Radeon RX 6000 series. Our upcoming
@AMD #RDNA2 graphics cards will feature a brand new cooler design, and you can study every angle yourself on our Fortnite Creative Island.
Yeah, I need the 3080 or 3090 now. 1080ti just not cutting it in FS2020. It does not bad at all holding it's own @ around the 40-50 mark on Ultra, but man, does my 3950x get hot, and that's under water, lol Thank fuck I'm not clocking that fucker! It wouldn't be so bad if it was using all 16 cores, lol, but whooo, I'm getting all tanned.
3080 not that brilliant IMO, but if you ain't bought into 20 series, it's a good upper from 10 series, else, it's same if you had 10 series, and went to 20 series, but, I suppose that the same applies from the 9 series to the 10 series lol. Rule of thumb. Skip a generation
The 3090 it is then, my next, the 5090 (skipping the 40 series, of course)
