Reminds me of the typical MMO crap: get to endgame that's where the real game starts.
Usually to excuse it being a bad levelling experience.
You decide how long you'll play. Sometimes I enjoy the leveling process much more than the "endgame". Also endgame isn't just one thing in PoE. You'll decide what the endgame is:
defeat Sirus (current endboss)
get to level 100 (or in most cases, as high as possible - my limit is 95, after 95 it's just too time consuming)
get as deep as possible in the mine
or various ways to farm as much money as possible:
delve / legion / blight / delirium / lab
boss farming
farm a specific map for items
crafting and selling items
The game offers much, but the technical difficulties are getting worse every league. They have to work on that.

Wasn't a comment on the game though, never tried it so I really can't give an opinion on it. Just amused me that the post of Thorwulf reminded me of a common thing in mmo's.
3.13 Launch Delayed until January...because Cyberpunk delayed.
Quote:
Yesterday, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released on December 10. We do not want to put our players in a position of having to choose between these two games, so we have decided to step out of the way and delay the release of Path of Exile 3.13 until January.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
If you followed the drama with 3.12 this sounds like a cheap excuse, especially if you know how good the support of GGG is during the December leagues.
At least we can skip the usual this year:
"Hey we just released 3.13, but most of the crew is visiting family. Be patient till we release patches in January".
Really enjoying it SSF HC Delve, endless delve with no campaign grind and boss checks, cards, maps etc. all worthless just delve mechanics and item nodes. I've hit level 70 about depth 70, so far so good (I have a job and need sleep so only playing a few hours a day).
It's a fun event, maybe this event will teach people how to reach the unconnected nodes
Level 89 and depth 130. Trying to push deeper after work, I've mostly tried to optimise my gear to this moment. I miss the crafting bench, especially for off-coloring.

Too bad it's such a shallow genre. Would love to play an actual RPG in that cool setting. Might still give it a try though, aRPG's can be pretty decent if they are atmospheric, especially if you play on some really hard mode.
Shallow genre, probably the last seriously hardcore game released in over a decade. Try just reach endgame in hardcore without reading someones build / tutorial to play the game. Its what it makes the game so damn good, never read derp guides, play hardcore, get into the mechanics/game and play something properly for a change.
Today's gamer just too lazy, wants instant win everything and no penalty.
I tried PoE quickly some years ago, seemed decent enough and better than Grim Dawn which too me isn't very atmospheric. Might give it a try then... backlog is fucking immense at this point though.

Good luck getting into game without any tutorial now after million "expansions", the amount of content is just too much for new player.
They will reduce the types of currencies available. Not every league mechanics will make it into PoE2. Sockets will be made more user friendly. The power creep will be reduced. Even the combat seems to be getting some serious changes. So the new player experience will be a lot better.
I for one would love if PoE2 would be detached from the original, but they are most likely trying to avoid the backlash from those players that spent thousands of dollars in supporting packs.
They are only skin packs though, i've bought some of them them and don't use any of the skins because most of them are imo awful compared to the base game. I'd agree they need to prune back some of the expansion mechanics, i still havn't bothered to properly learn item crafting (outside of currency crafting) or the deeper delve/fossil mechanics.
