The reviews are not that surprising since Wasteland 2 scored well if I remember correctly but I have to wonder if being an MS game now means we will see the Directors Cut in a year.
You mean like we did with Wasteland 2?
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

That is why I posted the question as I wonder if MS will actually let them spend more money to do that since wasn't the Director's Cut for Wasteland 2 made more for the console release so it served a dual purpose.
I came here to make sure I wasn't crazy. I had to read. . .and re-read the purchase a couple of times to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I'm all for supporting good games but twenty bucks is too low to pass up.

A review that doesn't shy away from pointing out less pleasant things:
• combat is a bit tedious
• performance problems
• long loading times
• graphics bit outdated
• Unity kinda sucks
• the good: see other reviews
ACG doesn't really "Shy away from things. . ." and he's pretty bullish about the game.
But when it comes to big AAA titles - as a recent example Sony and it's Horizon Zero Dawn on PC - he sure is very "shy" in pointing out serious issues.
A big part of potential success of this game is the characters and writing, I honestly struggle to get immersed in modern games and I'll refund immediately if its, cliche, boring or woke/edgy as I don't have time on my hands for subpar shit. W2 did pull me in and I'm hoping this one does too as well as bring improvements to the core gameplay mechanics of W2.

By "woke/edgy" do you mean "has women and POC's in it. . ." because. . .

Yes. Ban the female gender from games.. Said not a single person ever. Read up on those terms instead of looking like an idiot
Mm'yeah played it for an hour or two and indeed came to the same annoyances of the zoom and crappy acceleration. The atmosphere is kinda meh, I liked Wasteland 2 from the get go... this one, not really.
As to the combat, still fun. I just hope story picks up a bit and is a bit less derp.
Not that I bought it, but the experience so far would be a hefty discount before I do.
If anyone of ya'll find a way to get rid of that acceleration do share. Because it makes me feel a bit uneasy.
It's too zoomed in without the ability to zoom out further, the panning has acceleration tethered to it which I assume feels great on a gamepad (feels like shit with KB+M), a lot of things are now automated when they weren't before. There's also a whiff of... something... about characters and the presentation. Like they're trying to be overly whacky but it just feels dumb.
Combat is okay so far
All those are because its a console game now. Especially the fact that its zoomed in. Blizzard wrote about this in their console testing for Diablo 3. Players, on consoles focus and play differently then their superrior counterparts. They focus on the character, not their surounding, since they have direct control of the character. They play it almost like an action game. The result is the camera gets zoomed in.
The automation was expected, as is with any multiplatform game. The game looked almost like a mobile game since the start. I suspect you're gonna have to put very little input in the game and not many gameplay features that you'll need to handle - the game will handle them for you.
yeah, they will probably increase the zoom option on pc, if people demand it. After they consolised Wasteland 2, that version also had lower zoom than the pc only original, people bitched and they increased it. This time its fully a console game that runs on pc. They didnt even get the camera panning right.
Fargo really is a lying piece of shit. Remember how he was talking ages past, when he was asking money for W2 kickstarter. How he always wanted to make pc games like these, how he wont work with publishers ever again. Then he redesigned Numenera which took 5 years until it came out and was also looking like a mobile game that nobody cared about. Now he's fully back with publishers and console games.
I dunno if I'm surprised by the state of things or not. After DC of W2 I thought that maybe they learned something on other hand my first thought was wait for Directors Cut of this
