I would not count on it, it looks like the developers are not to found of doing direct sequels they said something like that in a interview a while ago, and personally I think that is great because that way you are ensured a whole new expirence with every game the make.
I agree with everyone that this is one amazing game. Finished it quite a while ago and everything about it blew me away.
Also, boss 13 has got to be the most beautiful boss battle ever. The collossi itself, the music everything was just perfect with that. Man game like this on the PS3, I don't think I can take it.. *dies*
But, maybe we won't see a sequel to this on the ps3, but just anything from this team would be amazing.

FU: I am hoping that it will get rid of all the current limits on character detail. However, I think I need a stable development environment, since I do not compromise on character detail. So I am hoping to have more than enough time to study-otherwise, I will need another long development period!
Read the interview, its nice. & Btw, I started Hard Mode today and I must say its slightly more fulfilling cause the weak spots are located in different places now, where they're harder to reach, and hang on to while stabbing -> Much more fun! tho I've only done the first two colossi so far. I must say I didn't thought Hard Mode would actually be a remap of the weak spots. I thought they'd be the same and only a slight change in the beasts's behavior would make it harder (like frequency of trying to shake you off & attack moves etc').

Err that lizzard type colossi was pretty annoying.
Indeed,just finished 13 and I have to say WOW, one of the coolest boss fights (along with 3 and 5).
Just rented ICO because I always forgot about it and I'm surprised by the quality of ICO.
It looks almost as good as SoTC and better than for example God of War.
I finished ICO when I used to have a PS2 and it was indeed an awesome game. You mentioned God of War! I played the demo on my Dads PS2 and that amazed me as well! I dont own a PS2 and I bought Shadow Of The Collossus to play since my sister lent me her console. I want to play Devil May Cry3 and God Of War. I will try and pick up some pre-owned copies. Sorry if this might go a bit off topic but does anyone know any other PS2 only gems like those?

They are both more action oriented if you compare them with ICO and SotC,
I also liked the PoP series but those aren't PS2-exclusive,
other PS2 only gems? Metal Gear Solid 3 was great so I suggest you try it (if you like stealth games).
Ontopic: Have you guys found any new moves yet? I'm still looking for the backflip move like someone said a few pages earlier.

The stupid shadows that went for the girl all the time destroyed Ico for me, I hated it soooooo much. Protecting people in games have always been the worst thing in a game for me, it's just blah.
My favorite boss in this game must have been the giant "turtle", the huge beast in the water, the big flying boss in the desert and a big ass boss close to the end.
The most dissapointing one is the last boss, it sucked and was soooooo easy. :/

Shuhei Yoshida: “It is a remake. The game content is the same as the original version, but all the assets are being remade. I figured we could use such tech to make if we’re going to make Shadow of the Colossus in the PS4 era. Bluepoint is the development company behind the PS3 remaster versions of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. So we know them rather well.”
Famitsu: So the game will have the same content it had in its PS2 version.
Yoshida: “It’s the same, but player preferences for controls and such change over time, so we’re working on implementing a more modernized way to play. And of course you can play with a feel of the original version, but what we’re doing is showing how great the original work is, using today’s technology. Ueda-san (ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and the Last Guardian lead designer Fumito Ueda) wasn’t that involved much this time.”
Shadow of the Colossus launches in 2018 for PlayStation 4.

Do yourself a favour and don't read anything about it online then, imo it is one of the greatest gaming masterpieces of all time.
It is one of the most atmospheric and unique games, I really hope they keep the soundtrack 1:1.
