The patch doesn't even fix anything, apart from Steam related issues?
It just adds impoved data collection to deal with the known issues better, for future patches Laughing

So one might be even better of with the isodemo?

Finally got it downloaded and running on my old 980M. Guess I have to go for the 30FPS experience Very Happy
No crashes yet though Wink
One thing that immediately bothered me was the character being off-centered and so is always moving slightly to the the left/right. Hopefully I'll get used to that shitty concept.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.

Honestly i'm convinced by now capping fps at 30 fixes pretty much everything in this port- I'm 15 hours in and not a single crash or bug, frametimes are a perfectly smooth line with specialk and physics and animation work as they should. I briefly ran the game uncapped and it was a stuttering mess and crashed 2 times in 15 minutes.

while i didnt liked the game that much at first once it opens up and you get more weapons and more enemy variety its actually good. the graphics also in later areas look very good, mix of winter, desert, jungle and insane draw distance is very well done.

have around 30h, smooth 60fps and no crashes.

@tet666 If I remember correctly the dev studio mentioned all system being developed for 30fps when asked why they didn't offer 60fps like god of war for example. Can someone shortly explain why anyone would design the systems around a certain amount of frames per second? What logic is behind this?

That's nothing new. Has been in game development for a very long time.

Quake had it already, maybe even doom, lol.

When you do some basic programming and depending on the language/engine you use, it's sometimes easier to make tick rate and FPS linked together.

Thing is, as long as you play the game at that rate, it's all smooth sailing ^^.

With consoles, they know very well, in what ballpark the FPS will be... so it's quite common to lock thee FPS on it.

Sucks for people with good pc's, tho, that's for sure.

Considering the target machine is of average quality:

The lesser the target FPS, the more graphical features the dev can cram into the scene.

The higher the target FPS, the more graphical features the dev will have to cut back from the scene.

EDIT: Also, varying complexity in physics simulation, AI updates along with graphics

Doesn't the engine that Bethesda uses for FO and ES have physics bugs based off FPS being too high? (talking about launch bugs, not current)

Well, id tech engines had those fps bugs, where a certain fps would give you a speed and/or jump advantage.

The famous 125FPS etc.

Physics_simulation-FPS and Renderer-FPS CAN be kept separate.

Finished the base game after 48h rushing in the end as the game like almost every open world get tidous around 3/4. The main story had some good writing which I enjoyed even if it was scifi tropes (tm) but what isn't nowadays.
The combat and exploration was satisfactory, the climbing wasn't. The side quest rewards except skill points were just utterly pointless, in the end my inventory was always full with unopened chest and rewards because they gave jack shit like some scrap Why not give some unique weapon or armor and not this almost loot box shit?

i7-4790K/16GB/RX5700XT/1080P/freesync - usually 75 fps, drops to 50 in Meridian and southern jungle biome, zero crashes steam version

Overall an enjoyable AAA game that got me hooked which is rare lately.

Played it all day, yesterday. Not a single crash or bug, but I'm playing how it's meant to be, in glorious cinematic 30FPS.
It's fun, and the main story is intriguing enough to continue playing to get more answers. I just got the first sidequest to investigate a 'couldron', which appears to be something like the vaults in Fallout (at least that's my hope), and I'm looking forward to investigate. Exploring so far is enjoyable.

Combat isn't bad, but so far I'm skipping it mostly by luring enemies to my bush ( J Browman ) and taking them out one by one. Cleared almost an entire bandit camp like that Laughing If the game decides to respawn enemies every 5 goddamn minutes, I'm allowed to cheese them! Gives good xp too. Very Happy

Yeah that's the joke i'm on better hardware but i opted for 30 fps as well since there no way to get 60 fps locked for me and frame times>fps always SpecialK frame times are at least console level if not better:
So until they actually fix this game since it shouldn't run like a steaming pile of poo as Death Stranding running flawless on the same engine proofs this is the best solution for me.
Also i'm convinced fps higher then 30 are causing crashes not to mention all the animation and physic limitations.

No shit dude your hardware is probably way better since i'm playing on my GFs PC with a old 980 ti atm but even with my own PC with a 1070 TI and a ryzen 5 3600x i can't hold 60 fps at my native resolution of 1440p at digital foundry settings or up so let's not get to steam forum levels of stupid here ok? I know Kaldaien and i know how to configure his injector let's just leave it at that.

just because you are not on steam forums dosent mean that you know how to configure an injector. your ryzen cpu is better than mine, gpu is same, but on 1080p all high, so higher than df. so how does my old i5 haswell 4/4 cpu can run it better than your ryzen 6/12 can not? loooooooool

1440p and this has nothing to do with the fucking injector it runs like this without it as well i just use it as a framelimiter.
