gonna beat a dead horse here but the apple google play store drama over fortnite shows that its not really about epic thinking about devs or the consumer but themselves. got my popcorn reaxy and will laugh at any side that looses.
btw nice free gamez again(remnant of the ashes, tw troy, altos odyseey) even though remnant of the ashes kinda was too annoying since it seemed like they deved it mostly with coop in mind

Epic have pressured Fortnite fans into brigading other corporations that they plan to sue for an action it decided to do to support its own interests. It proclaims it's doing it for the betterment of everyone (which is kind of true), but they are also pretty clear they want to open their own app store down the road. So they are doing it mostly for themselves
With community support and folks like Geoff Keighley happy to push this and get the kids involved! What great people we have in this industry, who totally want to reduce toxicity in gaming, while simultaneously weaponizing them as tools to push an agenda. Class acts.

besides epic being epic i think it would be funny though if mobile appstores would be forced to give every p2w game their own payment option without getting a cut anymore. that actually would change the mobile gaming market. maybe google and apple would curate their stores more

That was always their target, they were aiming since 2018 to open their own App Store and that's why they are acting right now against Apple and Google. They are just dying to present themselves as the savior of the industry.

On android they might have a harder case since you can install fortnite over epicgames installer or alternate stores like the samsung galaxy store. guess we will see. I wonder how much of a loss they ll make doing this.

Indeed. Same can be said about Apple, should they lose this. It would be a game changer on the mobioe market, that's for sure.

As much as I hate platform delivery monopol, I also hate the idea of multi-launcher hype on mobiles as it's now on PC's.
The idea of every game having it's own launcher, not the idea of giving large percentage of money to platform owners.
