I'm running it at 1440p as well, but I lowered some stuff like shadows to low, clouds to high. Don't recall if anything else, rest is maxed. I'm getting anywhere between 50 to 70 depending on the scene. It's alright, better than some of articles and videos made it seem. It doesn't feel as smooth as I'd like though and settings have very minimal impact on the framerate, aside from resolution.

No crashes so far, I've been playing for 5 hours straight.

The game runs with fluid 80 fps on RTX2080Ti and 9900k on 1440p, 144hz monitor (everything on ultimate), but I was expecting more (framerate wise), especially because I have GSYNC enabled and the lower framerate is noticable at some point. Also the mini-stuttering during the cutscenes that I had in the beggining of the game is gone, so I don't know if it was an issue with the tutorial zone or something like that.

Going to wait until they sort this out before playing it again. No great loss if not. It's incredible how top studios like Guerilla allow their games to be ported so poorly without intervening.

I still find it very weird that they decided to go with Virtuos Singapore for this port. They very rarely do PC ports, they mostly work on PS4 games and lately are porting titles to Switch. Either Sony/Guerilla didn't care and just wanted to release this game on PC or they majorly fucked up.

So this was just overhyped by Sony fanboys was it? Because it was an exclusive

The last AC games look better, run better and play better. Setting is nice and interesting. Thats about it. Dialogue and characters are very low effort.

I’ve never liked this game nor did I like the last 2 ass creed game which were as boring as this game.

Back then, when it released 3 years ago (let’s not forget that), I thought Zelda botw was already shitting all over this. No surprise horizon 2 is having Zelda botw mechanics with climbing and all.

As in you think its good or bad?

Doesn't look all that good to me, is it just an openworld collect-em-all minigame type game as the trailers arn't telling me shit. Is it comparable to an Assassins creed game? because ive never got past 1 hour of those games before extreme boredom.

Is this an unprotected .exe? Codex release I grabbed didn't have anything in the folder it was supposed to - or are they just integrating the cracks in the installer now and not giving a choice? Seems a bit odd.

It's because codex rls = epic store version which has zero drm so they didn't have to crack anything. The steam version still requires a generic steam emu to launch so codex just took the easy route it seems.

The game runs alright @ 1080p on a stock 1080 and 9900k - not great, but maintains 70-80fps usually. That said, it seems to crash every 30 minutes or so. Shame it's such a broken mess of a port in that regard.

I don't realy understand why people are so worried about the frame rate. There are hardly any AAA titles that you can max out with 4k. You can with death stranding, but that's an exception, probably cause there is little going on in that game besides some rocks.
4k is for next gen hardware or less demanding games. (and if you need it anyway, to only reason I 4k is that I was stupid enough to buy a 4k monitor and it's slightly better to run it in native resolotion, but even then I can hardly tell the difference with ultra hd.)

This is a 3 year old game...all the reviews, opinions, debates, let's plays and so on are out there. If you want something closer to home, the console arena has a 10 page thread about the game of course.

Back in 2017, I felt the game looked great with HDR. Gameplay wise it's not breaking new ground, but considered as a package it was fun 7/10 game for me. However, today with the technical problems, many more similar games in the market and the ridicule console games get from master race retards, I would expect it won't be a success on pc. Some games have their place and time and should stay there.

It does not matter. All that matters is if you get 144fps on highest possible settings or not.

graphics and music is really good so far but voice acting and some characters are oof, some cinematic transitions are poorly done

It doesn't have a shitty frame rate because of 4K, it has a shitty frame rate at any resolution at around or above 1080p. It is an abomination. It is Arkham Knight 1.0 levels of performance draining garbage. Just about every review confirms it as do 2,381 people on Steam who shelled out the money for it.

And there are plenty of current gen AAA games you can max out at 4K with a top tier GPU

friketje wrote:

If that's your benchmark for why games run better or worse than one another, let's look at RDR2. RDR2 pulls off similar frames at 4K and has mechanics / AI / systems that would be far more complex than Death Stranding and Horizon combined. So by using that logic, why does Horizon still fall short?

I couldn't 4k RDR2 at max settings, most people couldn't. I had to downgrade textures to a point it looked horrible at 4k so I just lowered the resolution.
BTW i'm having zero issues with horizon at 4k. The game looks fine. I used the adaptive performance to fps option and put is on 60 and settings at high, steady fps, no visual downside (for me at last). The game is fine performance wise.
It could also be the game doesn't liking you're hardware thing if you are having issues, games are just not optimised for all types of hardware.

I love when people bitch about not being able to run every game at 4k 1000 FPS max settings...

a) almost nobody actually plays games at 4k. That's just a given. I think the by large biggest part of gamers still have 1080 displays. 1440p becoming more prominent, but it's still far from the "norm".

b) Anything above stable 60 for this type of game, is unnecessary. It's good if you get more, sure, but above 60 won't make a difference. This isn't a competitive shooter etc. where higher framerate might matter.

Running anything maxed at 4k without having like a Titan or 2080ti is just pure wishful thinking...

Anyway, I am now past the "Proving" and damn, shit just hit the fan ^^. I mean story wise. So far, I am enjoying myself. Gameplay is, what it is, but what keeps me motivated in such games, is more the story, than the gameplay. And don't get me wrong, the gameplay IS solid, but it is what it is, an open world game. Gameplay only goes that far Smile

Anyway, so far, and I am only 2 1/2 hours in, it's a solid 8/10 with a potential for change, depending where the story takes me.

Oh combat is also very solid imho and m/kb is very well implented.

It's an ok game. Nothing really ground breaking, very ubisoft-like if I can call it that. I enjoy it but as STEFaN7 wrote, the voice acting is off or rather sound quality it's very fine tuned and out of place, you are in open but everyone sounds like they are standind in a room.

On my 5700XT it runs fine on 1080p but I don't masturbate to framerate or resolution, there are drops but freesync minimizes it. PLaying on high settings with blur disabled because I don't see any difference with Ultra. After disabling steam overlay, I played 4 hours straight without single CTD.

It's kinda good though. It's a very generic open world game for sure, but the combat is actually fun and the robot monsters are done well.
Also mkb is done well, highly recommended over controller cause aiming is a thing.
