Should be interesting to be a mentally sane Ubi employee in these times.
UBI BOSS: Make it more manly!
DESIGNER: But, Sir, we need a symbolic feminine protagonist: beauty, elegance, sensibility...
UBI BOSS: I said, make it more manly! And, btw, it's 'Ma'am'.
I don't really care about such things in games, but I see a big trans reveal coming. The story of the first transsexual in Viking times, on a path of revenge on all who made fun of they.

I was hoping they would take a bit more realistic approach in terms of walking/running animations, dodging etc. but it still seems like your character is skating the ground and weighting 20kg, especially during the fights.
n Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla, you are Eivor, a fierce Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory. Explore a dynamic and beautiful open world set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages. Raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in your quest to earn your place among the gods in Valhalla.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available November 17, 2020 on Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC and Stadia.
I stopped following the series a long time ago, but did they just gave up on the story from the first couple of games? (regarding the Animus and stuff)
Also I find it really ballsy on their part for going (release date wise) against Cyberpunk 2077

They haven't been AC, Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six games for years now. Ubisoft is just using the these names to boost the sales.
I like the environments and exploration will be fun but melee combat looks less fun then Odyssey, maybe different weapons will feel better. Playing as male character this time, female character doesn't looks half good as Kassandra.
Like in most games. Nothing has happened in 10+ years at least there... same with physics and A.I.. it's very disappointing. Physics has taken a step back i'd say, and often also A.I.

Oh come on, there are plenty of games that have good animations. Valhalla's just look extremely cheap and unpolished.

care to give any examples? I'd say this looks rather typical.
RDR2, Death Stranding and TLOU2 come to mind from the more recent games. The latest Tomb Raider games have better animations than this. Hell, Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro have way better animations than Valhalla, you don't see such insane frames skipping in these games and they are no technical marvels.
I guess they need to step up their game... greedy bastards should have made this for next gen instead, taken 1-2 years extra to get graphics and animations right, get the writing and questing right.. As it is now this will be just the same as the previous two, apart from very slight additions.
The only thing they're doing with this is killing off their own brand, people will lose interest and people will get annoyed. Maybe that's going slower than what i personally expect though and they feel that 3 similar games is the max before people (and reviewers especially, which they rely on) will get seriously pissed.. I hope the next one is a full blown RPG, they'd be idiots not to do it.
Edit: Uncharted 4, yeah, a bit hard to compare to since combat and climbing is quite different but the characters did feel like they had more weight to them.

Don't worry, the Animus story is still in all the games
