ah nono, it's new trackmania, but only the "base" edition is free... you have to "buy time to play" like 10$/year, but it's not a subscription (famous ubi words)...

Theory on how to get a game worth 5-6 eur for free on steam like homeworld remastered collection ( 5.5 eur) or doom 2016 (5.99 eur) : buy this game + a game making the amount over 30 eur so u get 5 eur off on steam in ur shopping cart (assuming u have some steamwallet or need steamwallet funds for the future, not sure if they refund to creditcard on paypal back) Then refund the expensive game, considering refunds are almost fully automatic when 0 hours played ? + extra summer points
