So, for those of us who didn't get the "working" release: get this new update, strip 20 chars off of those 5 files...and burn?
Is that right?

ok with this new save...
world championship mode works...but 10% is already done...can replay the earllier races
GT challenge mode works fine for me (cant confirm whether it worked before this save game tho)
so far no problems
will do me till retail/proper
intel i7 3770k @4.4, ASRock Z77 Extreme 4, 16GB Corsiar Vengance 1600 ram, ATI 5850 BE, Antec 1 Case, Antec 1 550W PSU, emu0404, 120gb agility3 ssd OS, 2x60gbvertex2raid0 Games, 3 TB total sata2 Data. win7 x64.

It's those number files, someone needs to change the call string in the xbe to call somewhere else and not those files.

as far as hdd tho...no chance until a hdd patch is made (probably after a proper...)
this is due to the five long filename files.....
shortening/replacing these five files with anything other than those in the fix(es) will not work until a patched xbe arrives...
it is exactly the same story as toca2
this is a form of copy protection from codemasters....no fault of mrn's
it will be sorted but be patient...some one will get around to it
buy some dvd's

no.. read the whole thread all the answers are here, including the correct file names
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

ok i launch the game and work ...world tour is enable at 10% its a nice work i agree but i hope a fix come soon for fix this save:)

Alright, got it. What I don't understand is why this would require the second release...
The correct 5 weird files, a new .xbe and the save should do the trick, no? Or are there other differences between the 1st and 2nd release?
Aah, fuck it. I'll just try it and see what happens.

why waste another second on a release that at best has many elements missing when u actually get it working , so just wait for the ntsc and chill
As for framerate, the 360 version runs smooth, while the PS3 is a jaggy mess that chugs along in slow motion.

Damn it's still not right, apart from being unbelievably hard (for early part of the game) I can't complete any championships, it just tells me I have failed even when I have clearly passed. Two first places out of two and apparently I failed ???? Stuck on tier4
Anyone else got this ?
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

After more experimenting, I discovered that you can complete championships in World Tour mode as long as you don't change any options.. sound/controls/name ect
But the gamesave must of been set in hard mode as its next to impossible to even come in the top 5 let alone win in the very first race (GT Lights Tier 1)
Oh well, hopefully another group can give us a good version.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

hd fix & working game walktrough:
step 1: Delete the folder called Toca_Race_Driver_3_WORKING_PAL_XBOXDVD-MRN or Toca_Race_Driver_3_PAL_XBOXDVD-MRN.
step 2: Sit tight and wait for a proper release of this game.. prolly from projectx , dagger , riot or clear.
step 3: FTP over or BURN the game from any of the releasers above.
step 4: Play!

I have obltained a new working save from Kero and have tested it. It starts at Tier 1 and I can now change options like name and control layouts without any errors. This one seems to be set at normal difficulty (I'm guessing as it could also be set at easy).
I have asked Kero to make another one with 3 profiles set at Easy/Normal and Hard starting at tier 1.
If anyone wants this save I have now, pm me.
I looked up "gormless" in the dictionary, it said "without gorm" .... so i looked up "gorm" but it wasn't there ????

MRN once again proves they suck by releasing a 3rd straight release that 1.) isnt proper and 2.) still doesnt work without some editing. God this group blows and they shouldn't be allowed to release stuff ever again.

LOL..way to go codemasters, my save has once again gone wrong again though it lasted much longer this time, I get the "can't complete the championship error". This must be some kind of protection.
