I recently purchased these cards and it runs everything just fine, However I noticed in the catalyst menu that the max memory clock setting I can put it to was 800, and I know the card can do around 1500 max. Also I noticed that both the processor and memory speed are running lower then there spec levels. Is this normal? I had to use the specific 64bit edition drivers becuase nothing else worked for my pc set-up.
I did get two of these in hopes of running a duel set-up however I was curious what motherboards you guys would reccomend for this.
Im also wondering about the max resolution on these. (its around 2100x1300 I belive) I have 2 Dell 30"s and thier max resolution is 2560x1600. Will I be able to run these monitors at full resolution on these cards or no?
Thanks for any help guys!
*Update, I ran Counter Strike Source at 2560x1600 and it ran fine sometimes, and other times I would get little green/red specels. This happend randomly and either the specles where there when I started the game or they never apeared at all. It happend randomly with all the other games I tried at that resolution aswell.

The mem frequency must be multiplied with 2 as it is DDR. So 800 MHz is 1600 effective memory speed.
All gfx's I know about can atleast handle 2048x1536 and I am sure there are some higher unsupported resolutions possible too.
About the CPU speed I am pretty sure it goes slower in 2d mode (to keep cool and silent) and then speeds up when running 3d apps.
So your GFX should be more than fine... But of course if you don't like it I can take it...

Try turning the clock/mem speed down; screen artifacts are usually a sign the card is too stressed. |
Those artifacts appeared when the card was running at its lowest levels (I set it to the lowest clock/mem in the catalyst menu), I think its just becuase of what kosmiq mentioned earlier about the unsupported resolustions. Altho its weird how it only happens randomly and never on anything thats not a game.

The thing with loosing stuff is not artifacting. artifacts happens when the card gets overheated and displays anomolies occurs. Like checkerboarding (happens often with extra pipes unlocks on lower-end cards) or white dots ("snow") in games.
Try updating to the latest drivers and ask around at driverheaven.net forums and see if they have any good tips. Some real ATi gurus around there plus a few ATi driver makers...
Edit: btw because your monitors are widescreen it is not 100% sure that any consumer gfx can handle that widescreen resolution. that could be a problem too. Atleast not the maximum supported one... still take a look at driverheaven.
