So i built the pc 2 days ago.

I never had a windows cd so borrowed a freinds and another freind just upgraded me to win 10 for free happy days lol!
Apart from that everything is bought.
Loaded windows after installing it.
Get to windows to download the rx 580 drivers.
Downloaded the drivers.
They just will not install??
Get errors just as im installing about halfway through.
Sometimes if i am installing the drivers as it gets near the end.
Theres is flickering dots all over the screen with tv im using flashing on and off and thrn to a full green screen error then have to restart.
Restart.
Get to windows.
If i click an item screen freezes few seconds.
Screen flickers on n off then it moves the mouse on screen.
Untill i press another icon.
Same thing again

What the actual fu k its been a day n half now trying to fix this.
Definatly seems a driver issue but maybe it is thr card?
Piece of shit nearlly went through the window earlier.
I might rma the card.
Get nvidia think im done with amd as heard nothing but issues with them with the drivers.
Any ideas all please driving me mad.

Go with 'green', please save yourself all the trouble, RMA the card. Windows 10 is bad enough without adding more poison (AMD) to the mix. At least Nvidia drivers can be de-bloated to some extent, AMD variants, not so much. Wink

Did you also check that you have all power connectors to the motherboard?, ATX 24, 4, 8, 8, etc.

Is your PSU supplying enough AMPS on each rail that your hardware needs? (forget about wattage).

If your having trouble with the RMA process, I can help a little Wink, and you may just get an RX 5700 XT back?, but I'll need an extra brick off you. Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. If you were OCing flickering dots usually says its a memory issue. Could be a heat issue on memory too. Anyway, it shouldn’t happen. So better to send it back.

Finally sorted the problem.
It was the order in which i installed all the drivers.
I installed the chipset drivers before the gfx card drivers and it seems fine now.
Downloaded for honour.
Looks a good game this.
Star Citizen getting downloaded.

Chipset drivers don't actually install anything Wink They just give your hardware the proper info in Device Manager, and are not really needed, unless your the OCD type? Smile All they do, is install .inf files, that provide the operating system with information about hardware on the system, which, if using BloatO10, will most likely have been detected already.

So, most definitely, that was not your problem Smile

"Chipset drivers don't actually install anything" ... " All they do, is install .inf files".. That's an unintentional oxymoron if I've ever seen one. Cool

And without those chipset .inf files, drivers that look for them to identify PnP identities that the chipset drivers installed based on what Windows HAL picked up during install/first boot won't find the hardware and thus won't install. And not everyone use BloatO10 (I bet there are only a handful @ ze hump that do). I don't. But I'm not ultra-paranoid, I'm just quite paranoid and am happy to do most things manually as well as using some tools that aren't prone to destroy your installation if you select the wrong thing.

Take what you will Franty Smile You can install 'said' chipset info, but, even on Windows 7, the devices will still want a driver for them, if they should have none, regardless. The chipset package itself contains nothing, as regards drivers, thus, it couldn't have had anything to do with the original problem, which is what I was meaning. How can a chipset package, which installs zero, apart from information, cause a GFX card to not work? Nonsense. The reinstall of the GFX drivers probably fixed whatever was wrong?, I dunno?, but it certainly was nothing to do with the chipset inf install. Get a random chipset package and extract the .exe yourself. There are no drivers in it whatsoever.

Believe me, I've forgotten more than you will ever know.
