It's not you. It's good action movie by Netflix standards so 5/10 compared to the whole industry is perfectly normal Smile

Is that the remake from the future? Is it even better than the regular version? Surprised

Trigonometry (2020)

TV Mini series

7+/10

It was a very lovely and sweet series about a polyamorous relationship. The pacing kinda sucked in the last episodes though hence my rating.

Bunraku - 4/10
After finishing Into the Badlands this was recommended to me as a similar feature. ItB was probably heavly inspired by this setting to the point that one can say it takes place in the same world.

Unfortunately apart from interesting visual style it's a dull movie with most fights badly shot as you can see the hits not connecting by meters and also wasted some good actors. Overall just a wasted opportunity that might inspired something far greater in the end.

Seat 25 - 2/10

English film, but utter shit. Tried to be funny, but utter not. A yawn fest.

Midnight Special (2016) - 6.8/10

Nice Si-Fi story, which didn't get stupid, as most do. Good cast and acting.

Red Lights - (2012) - 6.9/10

Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver in a good yarn about the paranormal, enjoyed this.

Near Dark (1987) - 5.5/10
Heh... It's a cult movie but somehow watching it now, well... it didn't age well. Not to mention we meet out protagonist while he forces himself on a girl bordering on slight rape attempts. Maybe not letting out of your car while attempting to get sexual with her was something normal in late 80s in southern USA but now - Laughing
Simple story, simple characters.

No Country For Old Men - 9.5/10

5th time, but still supreme Smile

1917 - 8.5/10

Well directed, well shot, and the quickest 2 hours of my life. Gripping insight into what it must have been like in these awful times, the bravery.

10 Cloverfield Lane - 6.5/10

Edgy film, with the great John Goodman at the helm, and the wonderful Mary Elizabeth Winstead supporting. Good movie.

The Big Lebowski - 9/10

4th time for this one, and the 'Dude' never fails to impress Very Happy

Contact - 8/10

Great film, and Jodie just shines in this, seen it once before, but a really good watch again.

Last Passenger - 7/10

British film, starring one of my fave Scots actors, Dougray Scott, and it does not disappoint, despite being low budget. Enjoyed thoroughly.

The Shining - 10/10

35th time now, and Jack never tires. Wife had only seen it once, so it was her who persuaded me to watch it again tonight, and was annoyed at me reciting the dialogue before it happened, lol Wink

Breakdown - 6.5/10

Good old 'Snake Plissken' (sorry, Jeff) holds up well, in this tale of a couple who get stranded, and she goes missing. A good watch, but nothing special.

Yep, never boring. I dare say it's waaaay better (with less fx mumbo jumbo nonetheless) than Interstellar

"LOVE IS THE ANSWER" Laughing I couldn't take Interstellar seriously because for every good idea it had, there were 3 that were bad. Don't know what happened to Nolan after Inception.

I cringed really hard with Anne Hathaway's character speech before they go to find her loved one in that planet.

I was surprised i did not like Interstellar at all, especially since i like the actors in it.. I even tried rewatching it to see if i just wasn't in the mood for that type of movie, but i couldn't force myself to finish it. It's rare i don't like sci-fi.

Contact is a solid 9/10, one of the best sci-fi's ever made, seen it at least 5 times since it was released.. every scene is extremely well constructed and thought out, tons of symbolism and subconscious stuff in that movie which works really well.

And today's 'lock-in' viewing is:

Event Horizon - 6.5/10

Some pretty good stuff here from the 90's, and this is one of them. Sam Neil, Lawrence Fishburne, and that other lovely girl I can't think of ATM?. Story good, and very 'Alien' like, in mood.

Solace - 7/10

Any film with Sir Anthony Hopkins gets no less than a 7 from me Smile, and this is familiar 'Seven' territory stuff, with the awesome Colin Farrell, and the very sexy Abbie Cornish to boot Wink Pretty dammed good.

Magic - 9/10

Since the above got me in the mood for Mr Hopkins, I watched this little gem again. It cemented his mark as a great actor, and no wonder, as the performance is just astounding, and sets the tone for the Welsh boy's outstanding career.

Scraping the barrel Smile

Unbreakable - 6.7/10

Could have been a lot better, but still enjoyable, and has its moments.

The Titan (2018) - 6.2/10

Sam Worthington, in not the best he has done, but still watchable Sci Fi flick.

In Fabric - 7/10
A lynchian horror meets Mighty Boosh in a giallo horror tribute is probably the best way to describe this movie. It's starts pretty artsy and just a bit wacky but as the movie goes on it becomes more and more bonkers. Never truly goes full Lynch and thankfully Mighty Boosh. Interesting but definitely not for everyone.
