I here we go'ed a lot!
 Spoiler:

Except for the game loading quicker which interrupts some audio (already forgot where), I noticed no difference. Maybe to be expected given it uses the decompiled source code of the original? Very Happy

To be clear, they are taking down the ports of the game that are click and play, i.e. they contain their copyrighted assets.

The complete decompiled, should-be-exempt-from-copyright-strikes, source code is up as usual: https://github.com/n64decomp/sm64

This repo does not include all assets necessary for compiling the ROMs. A prior copy of the game is required to extract the required assets.

That's just the decompiled rom though (minus assets etc.). Quite a lot of work go into making that into a working windows binary with dx12 output.

The source code for the dx12 and opengl release got leaked too, not sure nintendo would like those

They have even less power to make a case of against the custom PC code. Razz

In fact, the PC port's source code is now online and in active development: https://github.com/sm64pc/sm64pc/

Quote:
OpenGL adaptation of n64decomp/sm64.

Feel free to report bugs and contribute, but remember, there must be no upload of any copyrighted asset. Run ./extract-assets.py --clean && make clean or make distclean to remove ROM-originated content. This port has been made possible thanks to n64-fast32-engine by Emill.

That channel is not associated with the source code decompilation of SM64 or the consequent PC port.

He's just some dude who named himself Unreal and posts videos of himself playing stuff. He didn't create the "remake" you posted either.

That's just some fanmade project in UE4 by CryZENx. He has made other levels like the castle grounds for example.

But they contain no original game logic, code or assets and are just showcase recreations that are unfininished and mostly unplayable.
