Might give it a go i loved season 1 but never finished season 2 since it was a mess and not very entertaining i don't intend to go back so i hope the recap is good enough to jump in to season 3.

I didn't like this ep, I thought it was shit actually, and I do not like where the season is heading. Like last season, badass Dolores is just bad. This is basically a completely different show, only worse.

It ended in a very satisfying way, in Season I
S03 --> After a hift of Matrix, now is going after Minority Report --> Blade Runner ending?
PS:
I dont get the after action scenes at the end after the credits, it immediately drags you out of any immersion. The actors already have an hard time staying in character ffs

For me this season has been: sequences with Thandi = great, sequences with Bernard = good, sequences with Dolores + doofus = bad.
The last half hour of ep 4 was good. I hope what happened isn't final. If so, FU!
edit: did the previous seasons have constant music in the background?

HBO Reportedly Renews Westworld for Three More Seasons
"From the western theme park to the technocratic metropolis of the near future, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn from the minds of master storytellers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy," HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys said in a statement. "We can’t wait to see where their inspired vision takes us next.”
However, sources for The Hollywood Reporter state the Season 4 renewal is part of payout that HBO had to pay to get showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan out of their nine-figure overall deal with Amazon. The married couple will continue to create new projects for Amazon, while remaining showrunners for Westworld through its sixth and final season.

I distilled my previously mentioned theory for this season. After careful deliberation and analysis it come down to "Dolores in it = ep bad". Last ep was good and guess what, Dolores was barely in it. Sound theory.

Hard to say. It's a missmash of things.
First 3 eps were solid. 4th was just exposition but pointless until the last ep. Haven't seen 5th. Don't miss it at the moment. Gonna binge it when it's done.
1 2 3 we're like I need to see more and more and more. And 4th slowed it down to a halt for me.

I'll just say this... If HBO suddenly stopped releasing new episodes I wouldn't miss it much, to say the least.
I wish they never renewed it past season 1. The first season was amazing.

I mean... third season is better than second (not that hard) even though it trails off after 3 episodes already. But no, this show definitely doesn't need 3 more seasons. |

Yeah, giving this three more seasons sounds like an awful idea. They're already struggling to come up with valid reasons to keep Maeve and Bernard relevant, and Aaron Paul's character seems borderline useless as well. At this rate S6 is just going to be Dolores' one-woman Terminator show.

The writers seem to have gotten bogged down in explaining endless swathes of backstory, often at the expense of the main narrative. Even when they are making big reveals, the show lacks any sense of momentum. They are obsessed with world-building, but the world they have built feels cold and sparse. It's not dystopian, it's just empty.
Bernard and Stubbs are just kind of ambling around, not really doing anything. William is just cracking one-liners, now his entire motivation is "gotta kill all the bots". Dolores is still a one-dimensional terminator. What does she even want, again? Caleb is super boring, although Aaron Paul is getting great mileage from his three facial expressions.
Charlotte is the only character with an interesting arc this season.
Then there's the endless poorly executed action scenes. Can one character please just aim their weapon before firing?
I didn't even mean to go on a rant. Episode 6 was great and I want to love the show but they're making it so difficult

was not the best season, the show was the best when it had non linear story. genre episode was supposed to be this big episode but it was probably the weakest, aaron paul again seems miscasted outside of breaking bad. the soundtrack while there are a few great parts seemed like djawadi dialed it down unlike previous seasons.
still i enjoy watching it, i like the themes they explore and some of the visuals and overall the show its unlike any other show right now. while it needs a better director for actions scenes, they should also get better writers, let jonathan nolan and lisa joy do the big arches but let other writers flesh out the story.
