Well, if you buy it now on sale, they get paid "alpha quality" price and you get a way better game than when it was released Very Happy

a) 15€-ish for a AAA Game
b) "Wastelanders" is for me the release of the game, everyone else was alpha/beta.
c) Good luck playing those few games that "release perfectly", 99% of releases need at least 1 big patch... AT LEAST.
4)I am having a lot more fun with this than I had with FO3 and 4.

Oh and once I get the steam version *fingers crossed*, I can get the subscription for 2€/month ^^

Been playing this in coop for 4 days straight, pretty cool, we like it!

The exploration is top notch, and the locations are pretty well designed Very Happy Stash is a problem though, once you max it out, you starting having to manage the inventory quite a bit.

Depends on the weight of the thing you're bulking, otherwise it's just a waste of plastic

When I find a new workbench I just scavenge the immediate location for everything I can get my hands on. I then scrap all the junk and breakdown any unneeded weapons back to my camp.

Bulk is only useful for selling junk items, otherwise it actually weighs a little bit more than the actual piece of scrapped junk (I think lead is the only junk item that have less weight when bulked). Just beware that some junk scraps (like antiseptic, circuits, gold, silver, ballistic fiber and some others) can't be bulked, so you gotta sell them separatedly, after a while you'll notice some of these can take up a lot of space in your stash. I usually try to keep about 120-150 of every junk component on my stash, so anything above this ammount, you can bulk up and sell later.

radiant ai, working as intended Sad, wish it would work in fallout 3 too, i see a ton of wasteland inter npc fights but havent seen any npcs loot each other yet

npc shoots me, their looted ammo stays same as if he never shot any bullets at me (savescummed to see ammo before and fatfer shooting me, it was the same amount as when he didnt get a chance to shoot at me)

its all about the details, long forgotten art of gamedeveloping

The clip above, wow. This guy is disingenuous, also the ending bit with "If you choose to play fallout 76, that's on you" Rolling Eyes

Anyway, game's fun, i'm glad the review bomb failed, it's currently sitting on mostly positive on steam, say what you will, but i feel they've turned it around sufficiently to be worth the 20 bucks i paid for two copies.

SkillUp has become such a douche so quickly. Laymen are barely tolerable anymore, but his reviews are so fucking douchy.

Not going to defend the game here, I was one of those, who never touched it, until now and bought it for a mere 15ish € and for that price and for the current "state of the game" I am having my good share of fun.

thats like spoilering the whole game, fallout at its core is about finding ammo and better guns/weapons and surviving, getting a bag with all of that in it on a silver platter kinda ruins it

let us know how your 1-10 and 10 to 20 went and if there difference is as big as laymen says

im still waiting for 5 eur price/free to play and have fo3 dlc and fa4 reruns to fill the time Razz. the atom store and fallout first are all designed for free to play eventually

any of u playing melee builds ?

Atom Shop, only thing they have that is not cosmetic are the repair kits if you don't want to be assed and find one of the hundreds of armor/weapon craft stations around the world and use components to repair instead of insta repair kit.

Fallout 1st is kinda interesting. You get atoms to spend for cosmetic crap, but also have ability to play on a private server instance with up to 8 of your friends. A tent with infinite junkbox. And some cosmetics.

None of this is necessary to progress and doesn't affect any gameplay mechanics from the base game.

And if you smart and are with Diego, it's only like 2bucks Smile

Which by the way, TESO has the same kind of deal with ESO plus, i.e. crafting bag, etc. and there it seems fine... here, the same thing, seems totally absurd Smile And something tells me, that now they can add "paid" expansions, which you can buy in the shop, i.e. save up those atoms and you can buy them right there, with the atoms you got from the sub...

That being said, I still waiting for my steam version of the game Smile

Oh and another thing, don't go on play 30 hours nonstop of a game and then, once you're burned out, go write a 30-minute essay about it, lol.

I play a bit here and there, try to do and play other stuff, so I won't burn out with it too soon.

I'm enjoying the new content and they added enough QOL improvements that I can look past the issues.

At the same time, SkillUp did say things that are completely valid reasons to dislike the game, and even though I am converted to being cautiously optimistic, I am far from butthurt over him pointing these issues out and I don't begrudge him for disliking the game for these reasons.

Also I'm having a relatively bug-free experience, but if he says he's having issues, I'm not gonna say he's lying, we're talking about Bethesda after all. Not exactly paragons of QA. Razz

What's tiresome with SkillUp is, that he thinks, that his opinions are the only one valid, and whoever thinks differently is wrong by default. Like so many others, he doesn't write reviews, but opinion pieces.

What's Diego? I don't mind dropping 2 bucks for a sub...

Edit: I'm also waiting for it to unlock on Steam. I'm assuming they'll add the game after the 28th deadline?

Honestly, it doesn't really matter that much.

This is cool

https://gameranx.com/updates/id/197319/article/fallout-76-observant-radstags-will-lead-you-to-treasure/

Quote:
Players are finding an animal known as the observant radstag which are random encounters within the game. Overall, players may find them and think nothing of the creature other than taking it out for resources it may possess. However, you will want to avoid killing them as these observant radstags can actually lead players to a hidden treasure cache.

Simply follow the observant radstag until you come across the hidden treasure to loot. This was at first thought to be a bug within the game, but the community managers within the Fallout 76 subreddit has since come out and confirmed that this is an actual random encounter you may find while playing through the game.

For 10-15 bucks i agree it gives that fallout fix for many bored peepz right now with all the additions. Its all about principles and pricing.

Gotta admit the online only things was their best anti pirate solution sofar it seems ? OR can u play on emulated servers these days?

My principle is to not spend money on Atoms (or on any microtransaction store unless it's a free game like World of Tanks). If you buy the game but don't buy Atoms, you send a much better signal because they actually have additional data that shows players refuse to spend money. If you don't buy the game, they don't know whether the Atom shop is the reason or not.

And no hacked servers - there's a ton of server-side data being handled. The type of enemies, the level of enemies, the locations of loot all randomize according to nearby players.

I thought the radstag was going to give special loot so I shot it. If it works like Dogmeat it's nothing special - most caches in the wild are nothing to boast about - but if it leads to a cache that will have a legendary weapon ... .

The game has some odd pacing to it, though. At a certain point you hit a hard wall as a solo player. I got some of the best guns you can find by just playing and pretty decent armour but the better armour needs certain quests or vaults that are either played in group or played as a strong solo player but my current gear is not quite powerful enough.

Yesterday I took on a scorchbeast and about 30 level 40-63 scorched at the same time (I wonder if the scourge beast spawns those - those were insane numbers) and even with my legendary Gauss Rifle (does massive damage) it was quite a battle and I went through 15 stimpaks.

Man I got lucky finding that Gauss Rifle - a player was selling it for just 2000 caps but it's actually one of the best rifles in the game. The legendary version shoots two "bullets" at once. At close up, it does 1000+ damage, you can fire it much faster than a sniping rifle and it does splash damage to boot. You can also hold your fire and release it at the right time which feels slightly quicker than regular fire to me.
