I need to hook up another pc to my familys wireless network, but ofcourse the password is nowhere to be found.. Is there any way to retrieve the network access password?

The pc i´m using now is already hooked up to that network, and i can access the router, wich is a Netgear WBG111.

Please help! Smile

There is no way to recover the password if it's a good router with a well made firmware. It happened to me just a few days ago, i have a MAC filter running on my router and i wanted to connect my new raid machine to the router but it wasn't working because of the mac filter, and of course i couldn't remember my password. Only solution left was to reset the router and login with the default password. Took me over an hour to restore the old settings. :/

what he says, reset the router.

Also you can try to fill in admin as username and leave the password blank, or try the otherway around.

But reset is the best option i think.

I agree, no way to get it other than a hard reset.

I did, set it all up again, this time w/o the password, now the PC that´s wirelessly connected is complaining about "This si not a safe network bla bla..". So I check "Connect anyway"-something, AND THE FRIGGIN´ BUBBLE JUST REAPPEARS INSTANTLY!

that's because that wireless doenst have a key for it, therefor its accessable for every1 that has a wirelesscard in that area.

Secure it with WEP or MAC filter.

Your previous wireless setup probably used a WEP/WPA key, you should use one now as well. Also turn off the SSID broadcast and turn on the mac access filter.

I did remove the WEP key, cause there´s absolutely no point in encrypting the network, cause there is zero possibillity of someone using it without permission.
