Finaly checked out War Thunder and I'm hooked Very Happy

It's so much better than WoT arcadey crap for anyone looking for some realism. I mainly play Realistic Ground and it's so much fun to 1 shot a Tiger Razz
For the air I prefer the arcade mode though and it's cool that you can bring some of your planes to ground battles later on.
I've not played naval yet as I'm fed up with naval warfare after grinding WoWs for many hours which is actually a good game on it's own.

yeah i fired up warthunder last week because i saw shroud playing the tanks and they looked a fair bit more fun than the planes (and probably world of tanks). it's also pretty amusing getting to fly in those ground battles and harass tanks Laughing

This Land is my land
I started off playing bannerlord, but ran into this game about a day later - and i find it far more interesting. the game is fair bit indie/jank but it's a great cowboy & indians stealth/RTS/murderboner simulator. It's got a nice consecutive 100km2 map where you fight for territories and resources to stop the white mans invasion, and it feels like there's a ton of variety in encounters and how to play.

Colobots gold (2001), free game
only just played this today but what an impressive game for its year, it's a great puzzle/action/programming game where you are tasked with setting bots up to colonize planets. great game to introduce kids (or older) to programming and it still looks fairly good thanks to the open-source upgrades.

The good ol' Severance: Blade of Darkness with the Barbarian, works perfectly fine on modern systems as long as vsync is enabled and the Voodoo 1-2 renderer is selected in order to run nGlide. It's possible to use both downsampling and Reshade as well (with the d8tod9 converter), giving better results than any other ghetto mod.

Still a great game with its dense atmosphere, complex level design, dynamic lighting/shadows (pretty cutting-edge back then Very Happy), glorious locational dismemberment and combat system where each weapon has its own specific moveset/combo. The controlling method and camera are on the loose/rough side and the enemy variety is so-so (especially in the second half), but the game hasn't lost its Grandpa Souls charm Dude Cool

The only problem is you can't run it in widescreen... or has there been some progress in modding that in as well?

Sadly no..I've searched everywhere but apparently no one has been able to pull off the miracle, the only options are still the usual 4:3 with bars and the stretched forced widescreen.

These are my kind of games Smile
But Ripper has extremely slow gameplay, the movement between locations can become a bit tedious.
My favorite point and click adventure is Shivers 1.

Somehow my son and my friends talked me into spinning up a Feed The Beast minecraft server on my rented deti box, and now I am back to putting WAY too much time into that game.

Think it started by talking about factorio and Satisfactory. And how we love factorio for its random maps but not 3d, and Satisfactory is 3d, but would be much better if it had random gen maps...and one thing lead to another and the question of "Wait don't you have that box you run stuff on for us?...".
So now I have spent the last week setting up my massive quarry to mine 10's of 1000's of ores to put in my AE2 network and autocraft with..

My second playthrough for War for the Overworld and the campaigns for Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition. Which for AoE, I see difficulty spikes at the last 1 or 2 missions of each campaign. I don't remember them being this bad in the previous versions. Really hard to build up your army while trying to focus on the economy with anywhere from 3-5 factions attacking at you in the first 9 minutes.

Eh, it happens to everyone I think.

Just take a break from gaming for a couple of weeks or just replay some of your favorite games, that usually helps.
