The map guy NPC and flying bugs that sting you immediately made me think of Hollow Knight. They even have the Charms system like in HK, except they are called Shards in this
Why doesn't another group do the patches of games? I mean hoodlum never does patches.
It's not too infrequent that the patched-up games get re-released by other groups (Commandos 2 HD comes to mind), but it would indeed be easier if Hoodlum could do it. Thankfully, it's still possible to update their releases by heading over to the CSRin blyatlands and grab the patches from there.
I just finished hopping and bashing through the Orilands 2.0, what a beautiful gem. It's still fundamentally a story-driven platformer with the signature hectic escape sequences and scripted scenes, but the game is considerably less linear than the first one and it fully embraces the metroidvania, including some influences here and there from the mighty Hollow Knight. The level design was revamped with more complex and interconnected levels, more abilities/shards and expanded combat system, boosting the exploration factor. As for the audio-visual department and its gorgeous art-style, smooth animations and aethereal soundtrack, once again there's not much to comment besides a genuine
While the writing itself comes across as rather simplistic and disconnected, the environmental storytelling with the various natural biomes and inhabitants keeps things interesting and fresh, helped by the little need for backtracking and the possibility to use portals from anywhere on the map. The game isn't as challenging or rewarding as HK is/was, but it has its own merits and qualities.
It took me ~18 hours to complete it (counting the side quests as well) - mostly free from nasty bugs except for a couple of instances where my character got randomly stuck (solvable by restarting the checkpoint), though nothing that can't be fixed with some minor patching. It's very much playable with our good ol' keyboard as well since there's directional mouse aiming, which is always a pleasure. 8 fat rhino beetles and half a skeeto/10, it doesn't reinvent any wheels but it definitely belongs to the crème de la crème of the 2D platforming world in my opinion, a must-play for anyone who likes the genre.
84% done and finished it in 8h14min of the HLTB's 10h avg. The tears just won't stop coming out with the impacting ending!

As a sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps succeeds at improving on many aspects of its predecessor. But its most important achievement is staying true to the series by telling an emotionally charged story that invokes your sense through artistic means.
Pros:
+ Great storytelling
+ Stunning aesthetics
+ Superb music
+ Good level design
+ Improved gameplay mechanics
Cons:
– Plenty of bugs
– Some problems with mouse & keyboard controls
– Easier
Can't argue with the bugs, like being inside a part of the scenario and unable to leave , but the most fun one i've seen was this one , at 3:32:00 (ENDING SPOILERS !!!!!)..TELEPORTATION OwO;;;

Only played it like 20 minutes but definitely was not easier. Where the hell did that even come from? You have to walk into enemies faces now instead of running around while hitting them.
Well, you played like 20 minutes. The combat is much easier now because it finally works in a controllable way and you have heal on command. But that's not even it. You don't have to worry about saving anymore because of the new checkpoints system and this takes a huge burden off the player. The puzzles are also much easier and less punishing than before.
I played both games on the hardest difficulty. Ori and the Blind Forest wouldn't allow for many mistakes for a good chunk of the game. Here I could just screw up and move on like almost nothing happened.
Update 1 reduces a lot of time with the initial loading screen, making "Running Ori" last 4-6 secs on an SSD instead of...How long?...
Requires HOODLUM release though, but the "ElAmigos" release's savegames are compatible with HOODLUM + Update 1. So enjoy!

I had just finished the first. The more freedom tp go the wrong ways in the second made me find sometjing else to play
With the pandemic, I forgot to play this. Have finally played a few hours, and it's really beautiful, as good as the first one. The navigation of the world is so smooth, after amassing some of the abilities and the power ups (triple jump). I haven't played the original in a many years, and this could be easier, but still enjoy it a lot.
