GOTY 2019 for me. And now with the release on Steam, it can also become GOTY 2020 Very Happy

Definitely one of the most memorable games I have ever played. Do yourself a favor and go in mostly blind without spoiling anything for yourself.

Agree 100%! Went in blind to this and when I realised what was the core mechanic I was hooked until I finished it. Only had a look up a couple of puzzles as I would never have figured them out towards the end

It saddens me that I could never really get into it, even though I love exploration/puzzle games. Somehow the forced time loop reset combined with the whimsical tone of the writing that I had a hard time taking seriously didn't make me fully immerse myself in the (well-crafted) world.

+1

I played for a couple hours a while back and to this day can't understand the praise this game got/gets.
Might give it another go ...

It's really a drag when you have never played something like this. But when you get used to it and try to remember how to get to the different places, it's not that bad. Maybe it could've been a longer loop but then that would've made solving of some puzzles also much slower.

Seen the walkthrough on youtube, pretty disappointing DLC for a brilliant game. A lot of puzzles are outright boring, and the monster hide & seek section killed it for me.
The new 'inverted' planet looks cool though. The dam breaking and you see the water flowing across the surface above is really neat.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Me, aeons later:

Same.

The number of Overwhelming Positive reviews on Steam is Overwhelmingly Disappointing.

This game either clicks for you or it doesn't. If it does (like for me) it's pure crack and the best thing in the last decade. If it doesn't (which I fully get why) this is a rather boring sandbox.

I just completed this gem. Is the DLC something best played immediately or after a breather?

I'd say go on to the DLC right now. It tok me a bit getting used to the controls after an extensive break.
